Morozyako, however! — Toyota Corolla Levin, 1.6 liter, 1998

In our city this morning it was -38 Celsius!

Sticking your nose out into the street is scary

Swallow in appearance is all frozen, but it starts up for one, two, three, every four hours. It’s a pity I didn’t have time to wash it before the frost, now it’s probably not soon.

But in such weather there are pluses - not only traffic jams, there are even no traffic jams on the road. Most are sitting at home, there were 2 people on the path in the pool today, and no one in the sauna at all :) :)

True, with visibility we have complete crap at this temperature - at best 200 meters

With antifreeze, jokes are bad at this temperature - you can stay without a radiator at all. Glad you got it all right.
It seems that most of us do not bother with winter preparation at all. Why spend a couple of thousand rubles - it’s better then in the early morning, in the fresh air, to light a car or wait for a heating pad :)

hoho. we have minus 28 for two days ... the lion starts up like a watch, of course, I changed the oil, the candles too, even before frost ... but ... I completely forgot that I poured water into the radiator in the summer ... the lower pipe froze - I went to work, the engine boils, and at least henna to the radiator , it’s standing like an ice, the fan still doesn’t let it melt, it’s cold in the cabin, it’s on the street ... I rode like a moped, froze like a dog ...

the solution was found today - drove it into a warm one, left it until tomorrow, removed the radiator, merged everything, bought antifreeze for the entire system.

here is such a cry of the soul) thank you, I feel better))))

I also periodically get stuck in the yard in snowdrifts)))

well, how what? and wears it like that, and there is a ryksa))) how poor he is in all the snowdrifts and ice ... probably stressful.

And we seem to be used to it. Just a little frost - all at once like pregnant wood lice. Where needed and where not needed. The whole city just stands up like a stake.
When the temperature is over 30, you don’t drive much. I go to work no more than 40 km / h - the benefit of the distance allows.

ps And what struck you so much in what you saw? ))

and here in Moscow it’s warm… it’s colder at night… there’s a skating rink on the roads… today there’s more snow on the skating rink… There are a lot of accidents, there are even more idiots on the roads. Racers, damn it, alone. and we live ... with axle box, with sideways turns, long warm-up and mega increased attentiveness ...

ps today I saw the seventh ryksu on the road ... in shock!)

I have 5w40 british petrolium, 75w90 came in the box. Starts up even when warmed up. and before the box was frozen with old oil.

Everything rattles, it froze, I generally climbed and climbed through the passenger side))

Well, this oil for C56 is simply vital for the normal operation of synchronizers! So in the winter you have to bother like this!

Lucky you with locks))

Is that a Visco 5000? I've driven it before - no problems. Then I switched to Shell.
I have the same troubles with the driver's door, more precisely with the lock. After washing in the winter it is not realistic to open at all. Now only after four or five clicks the key fob opens.

yes visco 5000, for my 5a-fe it's generally chic)))

problems mainly with frozen glass and rubber bands, locks work well.

It seems to me that on the driver's wear there are more than any gaskets, rubber bands and the mechanisms themselves. I took mine apart in the summer, lubricated it, glued it with sealant. But apparently 100% of the situation can not be corrected.

AAA, bark, the same crap with the driver's door! Sometimes in the winter you have to climb through the passenger =))) Somewhere out there, it turns out constructively that the ice is leaking! And I thought it was just me! By the way, recently I took off a bit of the skin there, lubricated a little WD40, it seems to have become easier! Until it stuck. Works hard, but opens.

Yes, it’s a pity to touch it in the cold!
I didn’t touch my 2 days, well, nothing, today at -30 it started up clearly from the remote control! 0W30 decides =)
The only turbocharged slurry in the box does not take out at all, it thickens decently! More from the remote control this winter I will not start, I will only squeeze the clutch!

Crawled to work, too, 40km / h, amory stake, everything rattles, fastens!

Yes, tin!
That's exactly why I try not to touch it in the winter, it's a pity for the engine! Mostly by public transport!

l
levin24 20.02.22

And I need a car every day. Therefore, you have to use auto-heating. In the morning, of course, it will start without it, but the engine is sooo sorry. Current here benz takes off in liters. I drove 40 km over the weekend, and burned half a tank!

Y
YLevin 20.02.22

No, I only take mine for the weekend!
And this time, even on weekends, only on Friday from the working parking lot, I drove to my home, and didn’t take it anymore, and now I also just moved it to the working parking lot and that’s it (it’s cheaper here)!
So it makes no sense to put on warming up, as it has been standing still for almost a week!

l
levin24 20.02.22

I have Shell Helix Ultra 5w40 - I'm not complaining yet))
And you, as I understand it, do not use auto heating?

If the whole engine is in oil and there are problems with wiring, then felt is not needed)))

s
somebody 20.02.22

so that the car burns out in 5 minutes?)))

l
levin24 20.02.22

Super! I'm happy for you! You also need felt under the hood or a gasket made of another material.

s
somebody 20.02.22

all. leva is 100% ready for winter, drained all the kaku, filled in 5 liters of new antifreeze, replaced the upper pipe with a small hole wrapped with electrical tape, bought silicone grease - propshiked everything to her and wd40. I attached a Russian winter carton to the radiator.

The stove heats up faster than the engines. I am glad, now after 10 minutes of warming up from the key fob I will have Tashkent in the cabin)
