how it all began… — Toyota Mark II, 2.5 liter, 1997

my tourer was bought in december 2006 a little padded in full stock in this condition

     Toyota Mark II 25 1997

from the very purchase to the present day, ALL work, including tuning and repair, is done by hand in my garage
during the winter, a lot of things were bought from nishtyakov and the mark was transformed both externally and internally
, a body kit was installed around, 18 "Volk Racing wheels, HKS front, exhaust Blitz, APEXi boost controller, a couple of sensors on the rack, several times over the summer the stock turbine was changed :)

in the end the tourer went quite well, even took first place in its class at Kuznetskaya Zhara 2007, the best time of that season was 13.2s over 402m. the car was used daily for the first year and winter and summer

in the fall of 2007, after another stock turbine died, it was decided to increase power and switch to a more serious turbine ...
this began the construction of RED MARKa

well, I’m not saying that it’s just ... I haven’t tried it, so some things should be entrusted to professionals

well, it’s not enough to have an argon welder - you need to be able to cook with it ... everything looks so simple, but in reality, nothing! I already know how to cook electric arc and semi-automatic, I need to learn with argon

no, well, of course, I did some little things, for example, Schweik cooked pipes for a cooler and a frontpipe, well, I don’t have argon welding in the garage)) only a semiautomatic device;)

I still didn’t do something myself ... I remember at Schweik’s he stood with a collector

I have a Garrett GT40
, what's the problem with screwing the gate? even I don’t understand ...
you need an exhaust manifold for a wastegate type turbine, everything will be screwed to it. this is the biggest problem for VVTi Jazeta :( they are rare and expensive

what is the turbine? So my stock died and I also decided to stick a Garrett, but I don’t know how to attach a wastegate))) tell me

Hey! How can you tell if a turbo is dead?

hi
, well, there are a few signs)
oil in the intake, oil in the exhaust, some strange sounds from the turbine, and finally, the lack of boost (
opening and inspecting the integrity of the impellers and the absence of backlash will give complete information

sorry for the interrogations))) but how to understand there is no boost. here, after 3 revolutions, the thrust goes on and a pleasant whistle is heard, but not like on the blow-off. sometimes it doesn't pull at all. not at least like. (full stock.)

first of all, check all the pipes from the turbine to the intake manifold - there may be a hole where it whistles,
well, show your tourer to someone who understands at home, they will tell
you without seeing the car it’s hard to diagnose something)

ok. thanks for the advice.
