transition to the 20th radius — Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, 4.0 liter, 2008
After the changes made to the car, I noticed that the wheels somehow did not really harmonize with the general appearance of the Prado.
I thought for a long time and decided: I bought Marcello rims of the 20th radius with Yokohama tires. I thought that I would lose a lot on driving on a dirt road, even friends discouraged me from buying this mod. I did not listen to anyone, I knew what I wanted and went to the intended goal. After installing the new wheels, I felt a noticeable difference in driving on the pavement (I haven’t reached the primer yet): the steering wheel has become more informative, the car rolls in sharp turns have gone, especially in the Sport suspension position. It made me very happy.
However, after driving onto a dirt road, I was a little disappointed in the behavior of the car, it became very hard on the ground, which bothered me a little. After several kilometers of travel, I switched the suspension stiffness switch to Comfort mode and all my negativity dissipated! With a satisfied expression on my face, I drove another 260 km along the dirt road and safely reached the house.
I also bought “big†tires for the winter — Nokian Hakkapelliita 5 put it on summer wheels and now I’m happy to ride on 20 wheels. Now I’m thinking which wheels to choose for the summer))) Since I don’t really want to change tires!
It's true! The next car will definitely have 20s rims, only there will be more tires - 305/55
:) in a specific off-road, and so, we don’t have asphalt - the primer, very dead, nothing happened to the suspension!
2. It did not increase, since the main dimensions remained factory - width - 265, the profile became lower - 50, but the contact patch of rubber with the road surface remained the same, drove Pradik to 10.5 liters on 98th fuel!
3. Here, yes, the joints on the pavement are more sensitive, it behaves more harshly on the ground. The front end does not notice this, but the pneuma saves the back, so it's not critical! If you ride with your head, then everything will be in order! But cornering at speed is just a song! But nevertheless - the taste and color :) I never impose anything on anyone, but I was very happy to ride the Prado on 20 wheels :) It's up to you!
