Installing the cabin filter. - Toyota Corolla, 1.5L, 1998
Yesterday I finally took the cabin filter cover from exist's office.
Despite the fact that they had lost the Internet and they could not connect to the base, they went to meet me and, using the order number, simply took the cost of the order without change, wrote down the surname (in order to close the order later) and gave the part. Because the part is a piece of plastic with rubber, then I did not need any guarantee for it.
Towards evening I started to install.
Next, there will be practically a manual for installing a cabin filter in a Corolla 110 body up to 99.
So:
------------------------------------------------ -----------------
Parts List:
- Toyota Cabin
Filter Plug ( 88899-12340 ) - Nipparts / Jakoparts Cabin Filter ( J1 342 002 )
- Hose Clamp (actually caps) Toyota ( 88718-1A680 ), 4 pcs (caps can not be bought)
1) Take all the junk out of the glove compartment and leave it open.
2) Unscrew 4 screws and 1 bolt (the manual says 3 screws and 2 bolts, but I only had 1 bolt and 4 screws).
To unscrew the top screws, you need to open the glove compartment.
Location of screws. The lower one is indicated by an arrow.
To unscrew the lower screw and bolt, you must close the glove compartment. Pictured is the lower right screw and snickers wrap.
To unscrew the bolt, you will have to remove part of the sill trim. You don't need to pull anything. I simply removed a piece of the triangular pad and unscrewed the bolt by bending it.
After that, the glove compartment will fall into your hands.
3) Cut out the dummy filter plug.
In order to do this, you will need to:
a) Fold out the front seats all the way.
b) Cover them with newspapers (we don't want to get the car dirty, do we?).
c) Miraculously turn in the car with your feet to the window on the back of the seat, sit with your ass on the edge of the seat and place your head and hands where the glove compartment used to be.
In general, with my almost two-meter height, the Kama Sutra turned out to be the same.
We cut along the edges of the plug - the plastic there is very thin, but it is still difficult to cut because of the limited space under the glove compartment.
The plug is cut out. You can fine-tune the edges with a file, but I didn't. It will also be desirable to remove any debris and foliage from there.
4) Insert the filter.
The filter is inserted in 3 folds with the thin side up.
Make sure that the guides on the filter and in the hole are aligned. The photo shows the WRONG way to insert the filter, as a result of which the filter is slightly wrinkled at the top. The filter should fold towards the driver, not as shown in the photo.
5) Close the filter with a plug. The rubber part should close the hole tightly.
The filter is attached with four caps, but since it is long and expensive to wait for them, you can get by with four M6 bolts (better shorter) and four M6 nuts.
Edge of the filter plug.
6) We fasten the glove compartment in the reverse order.
-------------------------------------------------- ---------------
I also changed the video cable to the camera and secured everything well.
I'm not sure what they carry to the priors.
Most likely there are many that will fit, but you won't find them.
Oh EPT, I got up and I climbed to look where I had to cut so that the filter was, it turned out that I had a pontovoy complete set with a cabin filter, since the cover with the caps was in place)) To celebrate, I removed the cover and instead of the filter I saw a bunch of dirt, dust and leaves , and for some reason I fan to full (((but cleaned everything: DDD
It remains to order a filter, thanks for the number.
eh ... 2 days before the accident I was going to do the same) the
process was postponed for 3 months :)
in addition to this, I will have to clean the evaporator, because it stinks.
If you are talking about metal latches, then, in my opinion, you do not need to remove them - in my photo they are visible 3 from the bottom - they are rusty :)
There are 4 pistons on the bottom of this box to hold the filter cover.
Thanks for the answer!
The black box is closed, on rivets, alas, I did not understand how to open it, I took off three latches, then I will not do anything further ... I will not apply any efforts, I'm afraid to break it: D
Well, in theory, at the bottom of the black box. You need to stick either your hand in there and feel, or your head and look.
I also wanted to put it on myself, but I should already have it on the campaign, because year 2000. He took off the glove compartment, but could not find a cabin filter.
Here is a photo, tell me where he is. s50.radikal.ru/i130/0910/39/b4b17ad7c27f.jpg
I'll try again. I will sort it out in my free time.
Can you tell me what kind of connector you have? s43.radikal.ru/i099/0910/59/f4b103eb8795.jpg

Alas, I did not find anything, there is a compressor in that place, HFC-134a sanden. There are no places for cutouts there.
I have the same box. I was able to bend it - there is, in principle, a place to pin the filter, but only behind the evaporator. in front of him will not work, there are pipes. It is necessary to remove this black block with the evaporator and the interior fan. The fan block has an iron partition. There you can stretch a wire and put a round dust filter on it. I have already unscrewed everything I could find, everything dangles, but I cannot remove it. How to disassemble it all? Maybe someone knows?

ATP friend)) and then I thought you took the original mb)) otherwise I traveled around all the shops))) I wanted to order the original
Photos of the filter, except for those that are here, have not survived.
The filter must bend in two places, I bought a non-original, the number on the top of the post is indicated.
I don't remember exactly how much it cost, but I think about 500.
friend can you have a photo of the filter or not? and is it worth it? did you put the original or did you score on it?)))
No, I can't, I don't have the car.
Take the smaller one, although I think one of them was just measured by the box.
can you write the filter size?
can the order remain in existential?
Nipparts / Jakoparts ( J1 342 002 ) - different sizes!
Jakoparts:
Height, mm 19
Length, mm 210
Width, mm 204
Dimensions, mm 233x211x37
Weight, g 191
Nipparts:
Height, mm 20
Length, mm 220
Width, mm 200
Weight, g 215
I decided to install this filter, after cutting the plug there was little debris. only the filter did not go entirely, as a result of torment, broke 1 part of the filter, cut it off and put only 2 parts. They stood up like family.) It was difficult to cut, especially in the rounding places. Now I'm looking for a cover, a plug, otherwise it's blowing from there.
