Getting ready for summer 2011 — logbook Toyota Corolla 2008
Mileage by car 72000km. The stock tires were running out of time. While winter, I drive on Velcro. But summer is not far off. I want corles R-17. Dear Korolovody, who will advise what. Reviews of those who have already set themselves such bast shoes are very important. Preferably with examples of tires and feedback on changes in ride quality / stiffness, handling, noise, etc. / Thank you in advance.

there is an opinion that on 17 disks it begins to greedily absorb gasoline.
In general, nothing changes, except for handling and ride stiffness! I drove 17 for 2 years, no problem! Now I set 18, it only got better :)
I can add only one thing: if you set a larger radius, it is better to take forging. On casting, the plastic in the car begins to rattle strongly and the wheels will rattle on bumps. It's all about weight!
On 18" forgings, all these problems disappeared!
As for the rubber: I personally didn’t like the yokohama advan sport. In wet weather, the car seems to float. It doesn’t hold the road well. And in general, because of the soft structure, it quickly wore off.
Now I use Toyo Proxes T1R. Resya is wonderful. I'm delighted. Holds the road like a Cerberus. Doesn't skid. Doesn't make noise at speed. Holds in the rain as well as in the dry!
in my opinion it can’t be ...
the diameter of the wheel does not change. disc diameter increases ->> tire profile decreases
Nothing like this on the highway consumption increased by an average of 1-1.5 liters. About the same in the city.
I put 17 "Yamato Nomura castings on the Corolla and Bridgestone tires My 01 215/45 / R17. Gasoline consumption increased slightly, but not so noticeably, the speed characteristics did not change, it did not get any harder either, but the appearance of the car only increased. Handling only improved, at 215 km/h the car was glued along the track (unlike the standard Yokohama, the car started to float and glide at 205. The only negative of the Bridge is its noise, but this is a problem with all Bridgestone brand rubber.
