Tuning tomroses on frames — part 2 — logbook Toyota Crown 1989
How to bet on the crown Last
time I told you what the brakes are suitable for. There are two options - from the atmosphere or, let's say, from the turbonissans.
I managed to find one from the atmosphere, and the alteration in this case comes down to just cutting the ears. Otherwise, the caliper has to be cut in half and cut one of the halves to reduce the gap by 3mm.
The original ears, with them the caliper does not even fit into the gap between the disk and the ears of the hub, interferes with 1mm of the thickness of the ears.
Another 2.5mm must be removed so that the caliper is positioned so that the disc is in the center. In total, we shoot 3.5mm (3mm is possible).
The disc is in the center.
We grind the inscription and paint.
Why do many grind off the inscription? First, if there is an accident, you will automatically be found guilty if you have unregistered brake system modifications - therefore, driving a TOYOTA with NISSAN calipers on public roads is dumb. The second reason is that in my case, the rays of the discs caught on the inscriptions, so I had to remove them immediately, otherwise I could not put the wheels on.
As for the advisability of painting the brakes, the question is moot. Surface corrosion specifically does not threaten these calipers - after all, aluminum alloy. But, IMHO, it's not a shame to show good calipers.
The caliper is bolted (the photo shows a bare trunnion, because in addition to the caliper, I also changed brake discs and screens - like on all Normal Body, I initially had small discs for 14 wheels).
Initially, the brake hose attachment was temporarily done like this:
Those. I carefully bent the tube (the first time I actually broke it, since I have several of them), so that it had approximately the same orientation at the output as it should be. But the hose fitting itself did not secure in any way.
Mounting is done like this. The original mount is taken:
It is straightened, the excess is cut off, a 12mm hole is drilled, and bent. The side of the bend is determined by the orientation of the hose (a 90 degree error is very significant for it). It turns out this corner:
And screwed to the upper ear of the caliper:
The most stretched position for the hose - the lever hangs on the bump stop, the wheel is turned inward. You need to make sure that the hose feels good.
After that, you can start pumping the brakes.
Issue price: 1 278 ₽I always carried an awl with me ... now I left it somewhere, I feel so awkward ... and if I always have a file with me, I think those around me will feel embarrassed :)
thanks. yeah, it was a pity to cut it down, the inscription is beautiful, it shines ((
If you are interested in me, it depends on the brand, here someone already wrote that it’s easier for 80k, but Taet’s are better for 90+.
You can probably get it done in a day. It took me 4 pm, slowly, I was still engaged in replacing the hubs.
By the way, only after 3 months, they gradually got used to it, I began to understand - according to the sensations of driving - an upgrade of the brakes is equivalent to an increase in engine power by 30%, or a transition to fur. Those. investing in brakes is doubly justified.
how much time did you spend? I want to put these on my brand, will they fit?
Under two did not meet. But theoretically, you can do it - drill a similar hole and cut the thread. In an aluminum caliper, this is easy.
Is there only one brake line? Or is one hole just plugged? And that's all, I noticed - one hose ... And there are two under two?
PS. I am looking for a replacement for the standard 4-piston calipers for Moskvich (stock - non-ventilated)
I also installed from jzs 141. With the original pads, they went for a long time. Right now, I also install the support
Discs, calipers, heat shields differ.
I would take all the knots from the spring 141 crown, it seems to me that this is the best option, the uzs is no better, only older.
maybe you can tell me ... I have 256mm in front (22 thickness, they used to be), and 269mm in the back (16mm thickness), so there is an opportunity to get disks from UZET131, there is 280 (26) in front, and I don’t know the parameter in the back , so I won’t stick these contract discs for myself, only if I buy discs with calipers, then I’ll put them on my hubs without alterations? Not aware of these things?
