First 1000 km. Observations - Toyota Harrier, 2.2 liter, 1999

So, the first 1000 km. after registration (read after the start of operation) is nearing its end. The first time I sat behind the wheel of Hori, I immediately took up a notebook and pencil and began to write down all the jambs, malfunctions, wishes, etc. Those. all that I somehow need to do or modify in this car. On the scoreboard there was some kind of "pathetic" hundred or one and a half to MOT in the service of a relative and … that's what I have at the moment.

I'll start with the points that I marked in my notebook:

1) A long delay in the light in the cabin - when you close the doors, you have to wait quite a long time (10 seconds) until the lights go out and you can put on the signaling, otherwise the car will quack and swear with displeasure.
2) Replace the lamp-chandelier in the cabin — now there is some kind of "collective farm", I want to put in place regular.
3) The left mirror does not move vertically, only horizontally.
4) The steering wheel pulls to the right (perhaps the most noticeable of all the inconveniences).
5) The belts do not roll well, you have to help them.
6) A strange pick-up button (clearly self-made) to the left of the steering wheel. It looks like a "secret" from an old alarm. Absolutely no idea what it is.
7) The central ashtray does not open.
8) The rear window washer does not work.
9) Adjust the front and fifth doors.
10) The left wiper dangles, the latch has broken off.
11) Remove the rear right belt (more precisely, the belt stopper) from under the seat.
12) The gas pedal creaks.
13) Rear ventilation system (for passengers), fuse right air flow direction regulator.
14) Whistling on a cold engine at 70-80 km / h.
15) Make the left mirror spherical (poor visibility for this size).
16) Adjust the headlights.
17) Clean the cabin filter.
18) The sensor (light on the display) of open doors does not work, although there is sound when the ignition is off.
19) The heater under the driver's seat (for rear passengers) does not blow well.
20) On bumps, the steering shaft hits a little, dangles.
21) Do not burn the front dimensions.
22) Re-fasten license plates.
23) Right rear wheel with a hernia.
24) Chipped plastic on the left in front of the windshield (water drain).

Well, briefly about what was fixed during operation:

7) The ashtray stopped opening when I plopped down on it backwards (changed to the next seat to look under the steering wheel in search of the signaling sensitivity sensor). It was cured very simply - according to the "wedge by wedge" method. I sat down on her back again and she started working as usual :)
10) Then either change or put a normal piece of rubber (so far I put a piece of cardboard) so that it would not fall out. Temporary solution.
12) It stopped squeaking by itself, but I still spray it with WD40, after which I put a drop of silicone grease. For certainty.
13) The latch just flew out of the groove. He pulled it with his bare hands and everything fell into place.
17) I disassembled the front passenger panel (to install the AUX input, I wrote about this earlier), safely removed the filter, rolled in the snow, beat it off, cleaned it off - now it’s like new. Inserted firmly into place.
19) It's simple - the rug is pulled up :) I folded it, now everything is fine.

That, in fact, is all ... For now. Those. immediately after the holidays (by the way, with the coming of all!) I'll go to a relative's garage and I'll fix it in order of priority. Of course, every little thing, such as lubricate the belts, clean the interior, I want to do it myself. We'll have to wait for the summer. Well, I will no doubt entrust the "iron" business to the pros.

Yes, by the way, today (early in the morning) I handed Horya into the hands of theft specialists. No ... Yes, I put a normal signaling instead of the cat repeller, which I got from the previous owners. I was terribly buggy, I confess to you, I couldn’t stand sitting down. But more on that later in the next post :)

Good luck on the road and a pleasant pre-New Year's fuss!

ATP, but I don’t want to disassemble the closer, because for now I’m doing everything in street conditions. I'm thinking of using the proven version. Spin it to the maximum, fix it with a wedge (by the way, I already cleaned the loops), put the entire tape into a bucket, wash it like the most callous socks, dry it, iron it, enjoy it :) a little gemorno (in terms of the need to drag a bucket of water outside), but effectively.

how the belts on the terranic 1995 were cured =)))
at first I thought that the springs had weakened over time ... removed the casing, twisted the belts ... I look, everything is greasy and dirty ... including the upper loop, which is attached to the drain ... cleaned the loop, including and I had to use a piece of sandpaper, dismantled the driver himself and washed the entire belt together with the non-fur part ... assembled it in the back, lubricated it, it began to roll much better ... unless, of course, it was twisted =))
it can help +))

Well, you know... after so much time, I still understand - it all depends on the views on things. For me, they are sometimes overly demanding and overpriced. So a good half of the "complaints" can be safely omitted. The charm of the machine covers all this with a vengeance.
