Having unscrewed the right side with a special key without removing the rail, everything was confirmed, we order a new original oil seal, by the way, for those who decide to sort out the rail and for a complete original repair kit, like me, the "toad" will not give consent, then you can only buy the necessary oil seals, etc. but original! So, it means that we waited for the gland, we proceed to the extraction, using the advice of Ilya, the owner of the Carina E GTI, namely, we drill holes of small diameter in the stuffing box and screw self-tapping screws into it, but together with the plate. Then, turning the steering wheel, the rod rests against this plate and presses the stuffing box out. Next, install a new oil seal, twist and tighten all threaded connections. That's all, replacing the right oil seal without removing the rack is now easy!
Secondly, while preparing and assembling the interior, while looking for the missing panels on the mezzanine of the garage, I personally hit a board that landed right on the windshield and all this just before leaving. Well, what does fate mean)
