Spoiler — logbook Toyota Sprinter Trueno, 1998
I continue to unpack the package from previous posts ... :) This time I will show the TRD spoiler.
In my humble opinion, this is the best thing that can be screwed to the trunk lid of the 111th :)
In fact, the spoiler is not quite a turbojet engine, but a replica from Vasily Pro. The quality of workmanship is at a decent level. Of course, there are shortcomings, but they are not critical, so I'm satisfied.
In general, I drooled over such a spoiler even before I bought a beezer. And, accordingly, immediately after the acquisition of Truenchika began his search. But it was not easy to find him at that time. Vasily then suspended production, and none of the happy owners wanted to part. And now I'm still waiting for him.
Thanks to the previous owner, the spoiler now has mounting bolts (initially, there are no fasteners in the replica from Pro), for which special thanks to him.
When the parcel arrived, I wanted to throw a spoiler right there near work, but still decided not to bother in the cold. Arriving later in the garage, I realized that it was not in vain that I refused a hasty installation. It was not easy to tear off (namely tear off) the native spoiler from the cover. The entire attachment area was glued with 2-sided adhesive tape, and the adhesive tape seems to be of high quality. I hacked it off for probably at least an hour. I don’t even know if this is a factory version or the previous owner of the car tried. I still lean towards the second one.
The new spoiler was attached to 2-sided 3M silicone tape and bolts of course. It keeps well, and if necessary, it will be much easier to remove the silicone tape.
I actually wanted to write this post a week ago, right after installation, but I didn’t want to post a photo of a dirty car, and the frosts were not very conducive to washing. And in recent days it has become a little warmer and I still drove to the sink. I took a couple of photos right after it.
Damn, the photographer from me, of course, is not good. You need to make a friend with a DSLR and talent :D
Now about the cons of the spoiler - he is alone. The blade completely blocks the cars driving behind at a distance of 30 meters and beyond :) At first it was a little annoying, then I got used to it.
In addition, the pluses more than cover this minus. Because the spoiler really works! And very well - I did not expect such a tangible difference with my native Bizerovsky. On the highway after 100 km / h, the car sticks to the road. I stopped paying attention to gusts of side wind on open sections of the track, before it significantly interfered with a light car. It has become much easier to cross the snowy buster between the lanes when overtaking - the car does not drag on it.
On the road between home and work on the highway there is one long turn. In principle, it is easily passed at high speed. But the asphalt there is not very smooth and lies in waves. So when you pass this turn at a speed of 140 and above, at the moment when the suspension is unloaded on the next wave, the car rearranges a little. More precisely, it rearranged ... with this spoiler, the beezer rides there like it's on rails.
Well, the appearance, of course, can also be attributed to important pluses :)
That's all for now, thanks for your attention :)
I completely agree with this statement "In my humble opinion, this is the best thing that can be screwed to the trunk lid of the 111th :)":)
Just yesterday, Vasily unsubscribed on GT-extreme, which can now be ordered www.gtextreme.ru/forum/sh…iewfull=1.html#post373633
In some way, this is a fetish)) But still, it also works. It was possible, of course, to take some kind of shop, I think it would also work and would be cheaper, but I really don’t like them.
