overturned battery in the trunk o_O — logbook Toyota Carina, 1990

      Toyota Carina 15 1990

in general, the post should have been 2 months ago or 3. I haven’t written here for a long time. I went to the lower classes in top positions) and the reason for this is a minuser and laziness) I still couldn’t make myself swell, everything that happens with a wheelbarrow session so that it ... and right now I’m writing for 2 nights I didn’t sleep. So then 3 months ago I had to take the battery to a person who had it running out of power. I arrived, I open the trunk and the battery is on the side. Everything is wet. It smells of acid. Well, PPC. I don’t care then I’ll look, I’m busy right now. and here's what ... I wiped the paint with a cloth) washed it off with soap and water. Rust immediately appeared (but not terrible. But very unpleasant)
do not transport the battery in the trunk)))

listen, I'm certainly not sure, but as far as I know, even wiping it will not stop corrosion, whatever you do, it will progress

water and fill)

It seems that all this can be filled with water to etch the electrolyte from the smallest pores. Then remove the water and dry the surface. To be sure: after drying, you can go through 800 or 1000 sandpaper and remove the oxide layer. Shouldn't rust! :)

yes, I heard it too. let's check this myth on our own experience) in fact, I think that there is nothing particularly terrible in this)
