Diagnosis: "The engine is more alive than dead" :) — logbook Toyota Crown 1991
Subsequent disassembly of the engine took place in a distant but still native (I was born here) city of Tulun. Why here? Because anyway, I went there to visit my parents, and there is such a bad habit of taking unfinished business with me on vacation to finish it.
Having added almost half a thousand kilometers to the mileage of this disassembled engine, I continued its analysis. Previously, I had to warm it up, otherwise the daily stay at a temperature of -40 degrees Celsius did not favor comfortable work with it.
So, removing the piston and shaft is not a difficult task, and now they lie side by side…
Now measurements and fault finding. The liners and connecting rod and main ones are of no value and must be replaced (there were enough scratches and scuffs) Piston rings with a gap of 0.6 mm (at a nominal value of 0.25-0.46) are also for replacement. Rods and pistons are in good condition.
The question arose what does the marking on the connecting rods mean, it is different there
Measurement of the shaft is a responsible procedure and we turned to the best (in my opinion) specialist - Uncle Slava (it should be noted that not every specialist of this profile will undertake such an operation on January 2 :)) The measurement showed that it is necessary to edit the shaft and turn it to the next repair size - 0.25.
So the shaft is being sharpened, spare parts are being bought - a little more and the engine will be in full combat readiness. :)
always admired minders, for me to see a dviglo with a head removed is like seeing a heart in an open sternum. Horror)
I was proud of myself when I changed the candles and did not break anything)))
that is, since they are different, I won’t be able to buy just repair liners?
and "80 7U" AND 80 7M on the neck of the connecting rod, don't you know?
The marking on the connecting rods allows you to choose the liners for each neck individually (there are several sizes, 6 or 8).
the main thing is not to confuse the yoke between the connecting rods, the alignment will be broken ... well, read the manual how to select liners ...
the master of this (sharpening the shafts) has been doing this for a long time and with high quality checked by the 3rd dad's car :)
Wash, the piston is still selected according to the size of the cylinder. On the piston when you clean it in the center you will see the number. On the block, it is also knocked out somewhere, like from above.
They say to press out the finger is still that smut, so it would be nice if everything coincided.
UPD. And although if you have a master with equipment, I think he will deal with this.
And in the connecting rods (more precisely, the connecting rod-piston assembly) - after all, the main thing is that the weight is the same? Or are there other options?
Such connecting rods are unnecessarily veiled in my garage, but I can’t remember the letter on them at point-blank range. If possible, I'll look, there are no pictures.
The fact that they climbed into the engine is alarming in itself. The connecting rods there are initially reinforced, and hold 400ls at least.
As always - constructive! thank you very much! so it turns out better to change the connecting rods or just check by weight? The former owner said that he put reinforced connecting rods, BUT VISIBLY NOT EVERYTHING :)
807M 807U are just models of connecting rods, I don’t know why you have them different.
The selection of liners is described in Murzilka, but since you will sharpen at 0.25 for repair inserts, then these numbers no longer play a role there, as I understand it. The main thing is not to confuse the yoke, and of course the pistons too.
buy a book. you learn a lot about in-ear groups, etc. and how they are selected. or even go to tourerv.ru there in the engine section the whole procedure is described.
Well, just recently I read on tourerv about these 0,25. be more specific. so that there are no consequences. in theory, if you grind your native necks under 0.25. then 0.25 should be all of the same group. but that's the idea :)
in the book on 1g engines it is written both by group and about the fact that they have a repair size of 0.25, but I’ll read it for the selection :) thanks!
and about repair 0.25 find out exactly how they are selected. they say jz knees under 0.25 do not go for a long time due to nuances with groups of liners. there are 5 of them.

motors on the ACL drive tens of thousands of kilometers ...
they also hold the load higher ...
there are no positions in the catalog for 1g-gze... ((
well, yes, asl go like reinforced ones. come to my mark. there is a blog asl, look what I took. asl std. the whole whale
It's a pity! but not fatally — I'm on this engine until trneruyus. I’ll start, and then I’ll change it anyway ... or put it on an old carinka ...

here thanks for the answer. And then I was going to sell them. I bought the plastigage the other day.
Yes, that's the beauty of the fact that at once the maximum gap on the ACL is especially on a series of flights.
those. You don't pick anything, you put it right away. well, in general, of course, you need to measure it with plasticage or a caliper ...
i.e. we take a pack of atsl flight and put it in the motor)

in order not to pick up liners, you can use American clevite or acl, though I don’t know if they make them for this motor ...
then to you a question on acl. they are put stupidly in a pack? I'm on 2zhzgte right now, this question is very interested. because I already have them. and here with 5 groups of hemorrhoids turns out.
Thanks for the info!
otherwise I don’t rummage, I just want to avoid China ...
but you need to read about These ...
can you tell me which online store?

but how to find out which one is needed and which one was originally (since this engine is not native)?
If possible, it is better to feel your local. Alas, there were precedents that they sent a nyak from a vlyadik. Well, generations - if you change your 2gen to 3gen, then it’s better to take it with a scythe. Although there seem to be precedents that the old computer was driving a new engine (but I don’t know how he drove and how much he ate)
chatted I order a contractor ... but can you advise where? Is it better in our firms or in Vladik with delivery?
The contractor is cheaper, no questions asked. Charger alone will then beat off a third of its value.
Regarding the V8 - what is your tax on 260 hp?
