See Paris and die! — Toyota Corolla, 1.3 liter, 2009
So, I met the New Year holidays in my beloved German town of Heidelberg, famous for its fortress (castle), old bridge and the oldest university in Europe.

And a view of the bridge from the other side of the Neckar (river - a tributary of the Rhine) with a sculpture of a happy cat bringing wishes to those who touch the tambourine in her hand

In continuation of my pre-post New Year's tour of Europe, the final city of the voyage was Paris.
Well, it didn’t quite turn out, it’s just that my wife had an invitation to an elite exhibition of aesthetic medicine and cosmetic surgery, which would be utterly stupid to ignore.
So on 01/06/2011 we made a 550 km march. from the glorious city of Heidelberg to the no less glorious, but more famous city of Paris.
We arrived there late in the evening, and actually saw the city only the next day.
Acquaintance began with a trip in the Paris metro (a dubious pleasure) to the exhibition, where my wife was left, while I myself went to hang around Paris.
The first interesting object was the Toyota salon on the Boulevard of the Great Army, where the concept of a new hybrid car was exhibited.
Further, my path was blocked by the Arc de Triomphe, a structure of rather impressive size.
On the streets, just like me, tourists wandered around taking pictures and taking pictures in the most crazy poses and unexpected places.
Tired of walking along the Champs Elysees, I jumped on a sightseeing bus and then traveled around Paris, sitting in the bus, surveying the sights from the second floor of this cute vehicle. Many of my fellow tribesmen, tired of the abundance of impressions, gave themselves to an uneasy sleep right in the bus.
Cutting circles around Paris, the bus finally left for perhaps the most famous landmark of Paris - the Elffel Tower.
At its foot there are several merry antique carousels, and crowds of Afro french people selling the exact same tower but in 1:72 scale at bargain prices (6 per euro).
Then the bus moved past the military school to the House of the Invalides (it contains the ashes of Napoleon) and the Cathedral of the saint, I don’t remember who.
After that, passing by the Paris Opera, I drove into the Louvre.
And then over the bridges to the island of Cité to Notre Dame Cathedral
Paris at night is very different from Paris during the day. And with these few photographs I will try to illustrate what has been said.
Night Concordia
Champs Elysees and Arc de Triomphe
And the Elfel Tower at night
The following photos are the Elfel Tower photographed from the second floor of the bus
And A few photos of Notre Dame Cathedral from the outside and from the inside. In which we managed to get during the daytime service.
The city as a whole is very cool, but insanely tourist-oriented, and is overflowing with visitors who mow under the French residents of the same former French colonies. With an indescribable driving style - what is called God forbid you ride there, I was accustomed to the Moldovan style of driving without rules, my hair stood on end from pedestrians jumping under the wheels at a red light, and rapid rebuilding and U-turns through 4-5 lanes.
I hope you enjoy either my photos or what I wrote. if the public wishes, I can add photos and travel notes about visiting Strasbourg and Lucerne.
To Paris, yes, by car, but not on my own on a brand new boomer 318D, but to Germany by plane.
hello =) Aaaaa buddy, this is a beauty, just a bomb =) Excellent trip, places are valid and awesome pictures =) This is how holidays should be spent =) Well done! Good luck on the road and good drive!
That’s all, I’m not going to go to Kyiv, I haven’t been for 20 years, my wife returned from Kyiv a month ago and was delighted.
Yes, you can go to Paris once, it’s a pity that there was no time to go to the Louvre.
The photos are beautiful and the story is sensible. It was interesting to see! Well done!
Cool, congratulations. Successful tour! I also hope someday, somewhere to escape ) ) )
It is being restored all the time in my life, I have been there since 2005 and always one of the pieces of the castle in the forests.
But how beautiful it is, by the way, there is a fascist amphitheater on the hill opposite, here it’s a star, or the Royal Throne, to climb it on foot :-)
Yes, by car (but not my own), but I practically didn’t drive it around Paris, they ride very badly.
Heidelberg is beautiful
and I liked it a lot, I think I’ll be there again in the summer,
but Paris, although a beautiful city, wasn’t the cleanest
hammer
on the car?
well done) a great vacation) this is how you should spend the weekend with feeling, really, with the arrangement) good drive)
They probably didn’t get it by mail either :-), but it didn’t seem to violate it either, I turned on a cruise for 135 km and starred in France (there is a limit of 130), and in my native German country, as expected, 200.
That's what I understand the journey on the lung)) jumped into the car and rushed off! Were there any penalties?
wow what a class! Christmas holidays were unforgettable! excellent photo report *)
Yeaaaaaaaa! Photos are just cool! It's okay you pulled out! Handsomegggggg, from the heart!
Uhhh, it’s a joke, I didn’t even know that they do it in Moldova =) In general, a bitch is a mess there (that’s why the people want to please themselves at least somehow)
But it is very real and relevant, believe me, although this is an exaggerated version, it is not far from the Moldovan reality. We have a lot of Moldovans who, with a salary (income) of 300 euros, go with iPhohe 4 and at the same time eat barley and millet porridge and one potato for years, more show-offs above all. Or they buy a 5-year-old gelding for 10 kilos of euros (collected from relatives and friends) and live in a hostel on the outskirts of the hungry and without getting out of debt.
Now there is enough, somewhere 50:50 new (up to 5 years old) and old junk.
There is a modern anecdote on this topic:
Moldovan went to glue wallpaper in Moscow, laid tiles in St. Petersburg, took out pots in Italy, collected tomatoes in Spain, collected money for 5 years. I arrived in Moldova, came to the salon, bought a new foreign car, got into it, started it and ... died of ... HUNGER!
clearly ... I thought so ... When I lived in Moldova, I did not see new cars at all =))
Yes, in Germany, in France, there are few old cars, one might even say that they are rare. But in France, all cars are kotsany, probably because they drive like m ... ki.
Hmm, do they drive a lot of old cars there? Otherwise, they say in Germany without old cars, everything is on new ones!
Ipat how it is Clean! It must have been a fabulous weekend =)) How long did you rest there?
