Cultural expedition — logbook Toyota Land Cruiser 1996
Already the second vacation has passed, and I still have not added an entry in the BZ … NeKarasho!
I am correcting myself.
I will tell you about a trip to Lutsk, or rather, to the castle of Prince Lubart!
1. Route planning
Here, everything is outrageously simple - from Rivne, where our Japanese Policeman rests, to Lutsk - about 80 km.
Therefore, the preparation was quick: a camera, a bottle of mineral water and go!
The wheel is waiting!
Sat down. Go.
2. Brief information from Wikipedia:
Lutsk (Ukrainian Lutsk) is a city in Ukraine, the administrative center of the Volyn region. Population - 210.7 thousand inhabitants [1] (2010). One of the oldest cities in Ukraine. The first written mention dates back to 1085.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9B%D1%83%D1%86%D0%BA
Lutsk is located on the Styr River and was once the ancient capital of Volhynia. According to different versions, its name comes from the word "bow", i.e. bend of the river, or on behalf of the leader of the East Slavic tribe of the Dulibs, Luka, who founded this settlement. For the first time, Lutsk is mentioned as the city of Luchesk in the Hypatiev Chronicle in the description of the events of 1085, when the Kyiv prince Vladimir Monomakh took possession of the city, establishing it as the center of the Russian principality for centuries.
Entering 1320 as part of Lithuania, the city actually became the second capital of the country. Its development was facilitated by Prince Lubart, who built the famous stone castle Lutsk Castle or Lubart's Castle. In 1429, during the reign of the Lithuanian king Vytautas, a congress of the greatest monarchs of Europe was held in Lutsk in connection with the threat from Turkey.
The city owes its numerous religious architectural monuments to the period of Polish rule in the 16th-17th centuries. After the War of Liberation and the entry of the city into Russia, a period of decline began, aggravated by two world wars. However, all these years, Lutsk has remained a significant cultural center and a hotbed of Ukrainian national identity. The childhood years of the poetess Lesya Ukrainka passed here. Today, the architecture of the historic center is well preserved and is being consistently restored.

3. Actually - the purpose of the visit
Everyone who comes to Lutsk, this old city, which is already over 900 years old, must visit the Lutsk Castle or, as it is also called, "Lubart's Castle".
Coordinates: 50°44'18.78''N, 25°19'20.48''E

We were no exception - here we are before visiting:
Lubart Gediminovich began to build the castle back in 1340, the construction was long and lasted more than 30 years, moreover, after the death of Lubart, his ancestors continued this work, and only 200 years later, after the start of construction, the castle received those features that now every tourist can see it. And what happened in the end result still amazes everyone who has seen the castle with their own eyes, and there is something to be surprised about here. Already approaching the very walls of the castle, you can simply be speechless, it is so beautiful and majestic, it exudes antiquity, strength, chivalry and the medieval spirit. Once on the territory of the castle, you can simply get lost in time, the castle is simply mesmerizing, everything is so permeated with history here, it seems that a sentry will now come out from behind the wall of the tower, or a detachment of horse patrol will suddenly enter the courtyard.
Although many tourists visit the capital of Volyn just to see this wonderful castle, which has been towering over the city with its walls and towers for more than 500 years, it is so popular and recognizable that it has become a real emblem of both the city and the entire Volyn region. areas. Moreover, the castle is so important for the country and unique that its image can be seen on 200 hryvnias - the national currency of Ukraine.
This is understandable, because Lutsk Castle is practically the only castle from the period of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, which has survived until the 21st century in its original architecture.
Lutsk Castle of Prince Lubart is one of the most powerful fortresses of Volhynia, a visiting card of Lutsk. The upper castle existed on the top of the hill back in the times of the Rurikovichs, however, in its present form, a typical European medieval feudal castle was built in 1340-85. Lithuanian-Russian prince Lubart. It became the residence of the Volyn princes, and for some time - the capital of the Galicia-Volyn state. Fortified in 1430-1542. during the reign of Prince Svidrigailo. The Lutsk Castle complex includes the Entrance, Styrovaya and Vladychya towers surrounded by walls. Inside there are gentry and episcopal houses. The foundations and dungeons of the 12th-century John the Evangelist Cathedral, in which Prince Lubart and many other Volyn rulers were buried, have been preserved.
Several museums are open on the territory of Lutsk Castle: painting, printing
bells
building ceramics, weapons
The castle is constantly being restored, archaeological research is being carried out on the territory.
Having already completed the tour and turning back, we saw a majestic castle in the rays of the setting sun ...
And next to our "bobik", as it turned out, guests from sunny Russia - that beautiful white Audi ...
These are the sewer manholes in this old square
Driving through the sun-drenched square, the feeling of frozen time did not leave us ... Only our car and electric wires betrayed the 21st century ...
4. Road
For those 80 km of the way — I just did not notice it. The state does not cause any unpleasant memories, and the beautiful nature and cheerful company reduce the pastime on the way to pleasant communication and cheerful mood.
It is worth noting that the gas stations on the way were only at the exit from Rivne and in Lutsk itself, well, a couple of "non-titled" ones on the way (Klevan, Poddubtsy)
5. Car!
TLC once again showed its best side. It is not only born to conquer off-road, but also very well arranged for making exciting trips on it in good company.
Thanks to the official website of the city of Lutsk for providing some historical information.

San, I think, on the Toyota website, or rather, on their forums, you can find EVERYTHING!
Good luck!
It's a pity ... I'll have to post detailed photos and ask for help, maybe someone will tell you!
I don’t even know ... Volodya took it in a complete set and, of course, second-hand. The previous owner may have known all the secrets...
VX version, ie. — "full stuffing". We just poked around in the summer for half a day with the e / lift of the passenger door glass (the contact burned out), and so - no problems.
Sunroof and sunblind included - with automatic control.
I understand, I’m also thinking about the next part of the trip ... You have a hatch deflector on the TLK80, they gave me the same one, only the fastenings were lost, you don’t know how to fix it? thing, but I can not deliver ... (((
Thanks!
It’s really the best… Sasha, you’re making me blush…
* modestly shifting from foot to foot*
And my brother-in-law’s Cruiser — he lives in Rivne… I wrote about him like that… That’s
why the numbers are Ukrainian.
Now I'm drafting a report about a trip to the Carpathians - it also appears there, because this is our UKRAINIAN voyager! :):):):):)
