Made SUPERSHIP — logbook Toyota Caldina 2000
Hello! We made trial 2 wheels on the rally system with self-tapping screws. Approximately 120 studs per wheel. Inside it is glued with industrial linoleum and a camera is inserted. Pressure have made until 2.1. Tomorrow we will try on the ice =) We
used summer wheels, because. rubber should tan in the cold.
We also tried 1 wheel with just self-tapping screws through, the second - through and through + a part from the rivet (it turned out like a washer that holds the spike) After the tests, it will be clear how to do it better!
If everything goes well, then we will finish 2 more wheels and go on the ice!
spikes are normal) Rally drivers are not fools =) they took part from the rivet and, according to the principle, tightened the nuts.
We took washers of a smaller diameter and as for the thread) only this is superfluous and not necessary) without them it holds without problems and nothing flies out =)
Linoleum is thicker than usual and denser, a running meter costs 800 rubles, self-tapping screws for metal.
Kuller
why does it tear them up?))) everything inside is tightly glued + oak linoleum and the camera is pumped up) This is still the first experience, everyone started from this) if you do nothing, then nothing will work.
what does this oak linoleum look like?! self-tapping screws for metal?
Self-tapping screws are hardened, but we will replace them with a drill and 2 times more in quantity! The contact patch is not enough, although it rows like on asphalt!

I completely agree with you - you need to stay, experience is built on mistakes. Hardened screws? By the way, why do I say that it is not enough - they will not catch on the snow in such a quantity with such a wheel width, IMHO will slide. Although - this is a matter of experiment, it is necessary to try it for sure!

There are few spikes - they instantly tear out on the ice, it seems to me that even rivets will not help. Although with a good layer of sealant from the inside - everything is possible, but I still think it is unlikely - there are more spikes in the rally and it is narrower, on the ice the car actually stands on the spikes, on the snow the spikes fall into the snow.

Before screwing them in, they were checked for brittleness, the choice of self-tapping screws was great and these turned out to be the strongest, it is unrealistic to break them! 4-5mm stick out. And what has been erased is the use not on ice! how metal can be erased on ice - nonsense IMHO. So your friend did not test the screws, but screwed in the first ones that came across! Again, we are new to this, but everyone goes through it!
My friend last winter screwed screws on the lake for a ride. They did not vomit, they were erased in just a few minutes

self-tapping screws "roof")) very strong. At first they wanted to use it with a drill at the end - but then they thought that this drill would greatly drill out the place of screwing in)
My feet are in my mouth)
Very thin self-tapping screws. But it's interesting what happens.
Et yes) but we shared for ice. They tested it in the snow - 2 times better than a winter tire =) About sprints - they usually write about the ban in the regulations)) If there is no note, then you can ride them))
well, everything can be… :)
but with such "spikes" they will hardly let me drive on some kind of sprint) ) ) ) although who knows.
but in the snow they are useless to anyone, tk. the rubber is bald, like a knee :)
Chet flared up ... Here's the situation: My friend has been driving on such "super spikes" for 3 seasons already! And not a single thorn was broken off, not torn out and not worn off! And the budget of even a used combat one is 10 times larger, my friend did not notice the current difference! And it turns out - it makes sense to overpay? We are savvy) It takes 200 rubles for 1 tire))))
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend... I'm talking about something that looks creepy! these self-tapping screws break off everything.
and I would buy a combat spike, it doesn’t cost that much space money, if you take a BU, even on the same tuning, announcements often slip through.
what samopal creepy? What are you talking about? what's a comment? are you a pro?
Try to do something like this! and then a self-propelled gun. battle spike money how much is it? For example, I do almost everything with my own hands, I redid the rear lights - is it also self-propelled?
By the way, we tried, glued ... and even didn’t test sales, but they already slander (((
respect for such an idea and implementation.
90% of people would even want a bus for such a thing.
rated it with the highest score.
P.S. Damn, today I distributed all the marks ((
Thanks! And I'm talking about that! Tomorrow I will unsubscribe how many spikes will survive =)

Is there a post somewhere on how to do this? I think it will be useful and popular. You have already figured this out
We will make a separate post on manufacturing!
there are no pictures) it’s too much * occupation))) so no one did a photo report) and then, in principle, it’s nothing complicated, the main thing is to choose adequate components)
Is there a post somewhere on how to do this? I think it will be useful and popular. You have already figured this out
Yes, Zhen! Really happy to help! =) if you have any questions, call, come, not a question but more)
Sanya! Thank you for the tip and today's meeting! Explained and explained everything! Respect to you. We look up to you! =)
about the fact that tanning ... a moot point) I think practice will show! But it would be better to take self-tapping screws for metal, they have a drill at the end, which means it will be stronger and the hook will be better ... and 120 spikes per wheel are not enough ... I had about 250 for each;)
But vseravno good fellows that were confused!
original idea ... the main thing is to squeeze it back ... 100 points for originality
This is a self-tapping screw for fender liner, which itself drills a hole in the metal, but ordinary self-tapping screws are also possible, the main thing is not black, they are brittle!
Guys, please take a picture and write down everything in detail. I will also make ... I don’t understand what a self-tapping screw with a drill at the end means ...
In general, let's draw a line! The one who does nothing is not mistaken!
We buy 4 regular disks from Avensis (iron), we change the self-tapping screws for those with a drill at the end, we increase the number by 2 times, just in case =)
Self-tapping screws are hardened.
Sanya - Dasot, has been racing for 3 seasons - all the spikes are in place, and we also have it glued from the inside with industrial linoleum - that's for sure! Wish us good luck - next weekend on the ice in Moscow!
Class. I ran to the store for self-tapping screws ...
sprint in the evening, maybe I’ll have time ...
hello)) we did not use these screws) they are too small! read in the BZ, there is a topic about new screws and pictures of how they did it.
