Obesshumka. Rear arches and sofa. - Toyota Corolla, 1.5L, 1998

Today the rear arches and the sofa have made noise. Rear arches bothered with tire noise and sandblasting.

So the report:

1) Remove the bottom cushion of the sofa. You need to grab the edge of the bottom pillow and pull hard enough on the sides - there are metal brackets in the plastic mounts (indicated by green arrows), they are removed with strong impact on them.

2) Unscrew 3 bolts (indicated by red arrows) and raise the top pillow (it "hangs" on three brackets, plus 2 more brackets on the pieces of iron that cover the hole in the trunk). You need to lift it up to the glass so that the hinges are removed from the brackets.

3) After removing both pillows, there will be approximately the following picture.

Beige blotches are a standard vibration, I did not touch it, in my opinion it performs its functions quite well.
On flat areas, I glued an additional vibration isolator (I bought "VIKAR").
It is advisable to preheat it with a construction hair dryer, but since I do not have a hair dryer, and the weather was hot, the vibroplast was already heated.
After gluing the piece, carefully and thoroughly process the surface with a pressure roller (like a paint roller, only small and rubber, I bought it in an auto parts store for 35 rubles).

4) After gluing the vibroplast, we proceed to gluing the sound insulator (by the way, when buying, do not confuse it with a heat insulator - both of the materials between the foil and the adhesive layer have some kind of foam rubber, only the heat insulator has large holes in the foam rubber, and the sound insulator has practically none of them it is seen). It is necessary to glue tightly, joint-to-joint, so that as few unsticked surfaces as possible remain.
It is advisable to glue technological holes like a gas tank flap around, and then cut out a "cover" from the noise isolator in the shape and stick it on top.
Otherwise, when you need to change, for example, a gas pump or a filter, you will have to tear the material, and so just peel off the cover.

As a result, it turned out like this:

It remains only to make a foil hat for yourself :)

As a result, I spent about 7 hours, but most of the time I chatted with neighbors who were interested in what I was doing :)

Vibroplast took 2 sheets of 90x60 cm (350 rubles per sheet) - spent less than half a sheet.
The noise isolator took 2 sq. m. 300 rubles per sq. m. I
spent almost all of it.

I cannot yet say how much the sounds inside the car have changed - I did not go. Tomorrow I will update the post and add impressions.

Everyone is glued in different ways.

From the outside, they usually remove the plastic liner and paste it over from the inside, and then attach it back.
How it is attached and how it keeps with 2 kg of vibra on it - I don't know :)

but they didn't say that to me about the Shumka arches, we glue them from the cabin and outside (either on iron or on lockers) only a thin layer of something like guerlain is generally soft so that the sand does not knock, but I could be wrong!

Well, for starters, a sofa, yeah, but we'll see

You do it under the sofa - if you don't like it, then you will fold the wheels and glue them in the arch. And then in the cabin the work is still cleaner than under the arch.

I have, I think I should try, and under the sofa too

He has lockers, and if I stick it on the metal, then everything will fall off for me, because I do not have a fender liner on the rear arch.

Count me one of the plastic mounts from the seat has gone somewhere (disassembled many times), Judging by the pictures I have the same mounts, it means they are universal and will have to be bought)
The other day in the community I read about noise and vibration insulation of wheel arches from the outside. I'll have to try. I'm waiting for an update about the sensations) And it's time to do it myself, I think ...

I think the temperature of the torpedo is even higher on a sunny day :)

the stove is of little use, but the fan heats up so badly. I think even the construction hair dryer is resting in comparison with it) and you can do 45 degrees in your salon? %)

m
maxru 05.12.20

Hmmm, I didn’t guess :) I
could also turn on the stove, but that would be cruel to me, sitting in the car and gluing it all at a temperature of 45 degrees :)

By the way, in the absence of a building hair dryer and in the presence of cold weather, the radiator cooling fan helps =)

For as long as I can remember, you always write practically about the car, about any kind of repair, your additions. Do it yourself and everything in detail. Well done, you are one of those exceptional users here who use this resource for its intended purpose. Some people prefer to take pictures of themselves in clubs, sitting in the car, drinking champagne and saying that life is wonderful and why put it here ...

Yes, that's right, I was wrong.

It seems to me that "obesshumka" will be correct :)
