Therefore, after studying a lot of forums, and even finding a document from Toyota, in which it was admitted that rings stuck on 3ZZ engines, a decision was made to repair.

After ordering and waiting for all the spare parts, we started to repair. On their own in the garage. I myself acted rather as an apprentice, all the most important was done by my friend, who already had experience in repairing a Japanese motor.
We finished in three days, worked for 8 hours, in the end everything worked out, everything was assembled, there were no spare parts left, the engine still works fine and does not eat oil. From replacement to replacement, the level is the same.

can we have different concepts and detonation? if you are about the fact that when driving under load, when you press the gas harder, there is such a crackling in the engine area - it seems to me that this is not detonation, but the problem of the intake manifold, which on these models has such a feature that the air there somehow swirls, and bursting.
Someone puts the intake manifold from another machine, someone screws a self-tapping into the collector rib and the sound stops.

By the way, we have new gasoline of Euro 5 ALTO 101 at our filling stations. Octane 101! So there is almost no detonation on it. If it were a collector of chirps, it would be on any gasoline.
