Photo of the intake manifold blown up at the Cup of Russia - Toyota Soarer, 3.0 l., 1993
In third gear in the race with Vitaly Zyablin, I decided to test the "red button" in action, which supplies an additional 150 forces of nitrous oxide. Due to the insufficient amount of fuel in the inlet, sucked by the dying fuel pump, the nitrous oxide detonated at a speed of over 200. The fire did not happen, I was lucky, since all this happened at high speeds and the excess mixture was simply sucked into the engine. The car stalled and thanks to the parachute we managed to effectively slow down. This happened in the final. Technical retirement and 2nd place in the Cup.

No, some kind of brand. The force of the explosion was just great, could not stand it.
Uh-huh, I thought the pipes were blown off again. It turns out that everything was much more serious there.
We sat on the trek, and a cotton was clearly heard, and it was very powerful, that it "made too much noise" and the acceleration of two cars was not so quiet, we thought it was a turbo, but there was no smoke ... it was good that everything turned out that way.
Good luck Maria.
Hello Masha. In my opinion, it turned out just an overabundance of nitrous oxide, and at high engine speeds, a mixture of nitrous oxide and gasoline that did not fit (it goes directly into the cylinders for you) exploded in the intake manifold. Or is it because of a dead pump? I am interested because I had the same situation at a speed of 180 and at full speed, when tuning the engine. The intercooler just burst. Although looking at the logs after the test, the mixture was fine. Actually, I have only failures this season, five blown up engines, and a completely ruined transmission :( And at the cup, the nitrous just refused to work at all: ((
8.7 it's just akhtung ...
at first glance, without reading I thought ... yopta, how many guys have a snail blowing
So ... they gave the girl a car ... she broke it ... :) But seriously, I hope this breakdown will serve as an incentive to make the Soaring even angrier.
