What can't you imagine your car without?
The simplest question makes everyone who gets behind the wheel think. And the most interesting thing is that all the answers will be different: climate, pneuma, xenon, leather, sunroof ... etc, etc.
I will say for myself: I cannot imagine a car without an Audio System.
In the first car (Opel Astra), it was not possible to work on the sound, although it was decent for this class, but already in the next one (Legacy), complete noise isolation was made and the basic circuit was built (front + sub). There was literally no noise isolation in Leagcy, and no speakers would play without it =) Now, having the opportunity to compare such a combination with the factory audio, after a long listening time, I would like to share my thoughts on this matter.
The factory sound, installed in the base on a car of any brand, has never delighted people who have hearing and know a lot about it. Additional noise insulation of the cabin and alteration of the entire audio system are literally done on all cars of different price categories and purposes. Sometimes the price of such pleasure reaches half of the cost of the car itself, or even exceeds it.
Seeing that there was a demand for such things, automakers quickly kicked the ears of marketers and created an additional option: “Powerd Audio Systemâ€. So BMW got the opportunity to listen to "Harman Kardon", Audi / VW - "Bose" or "Bang & Olufsen", Lexus is equipped with "Mark Levinson", etc. I don’t presume to judge the quality of the optional sound in the cars described above, because for a confident response I had to listen to them for much longer than I was given the opportunity, but I’ll tell you with confidence about the “JBL Synthesis Premium Surround Sound Systemâ€, which is installed in Avalon.
The JBL Synthesis system consists of 12 speakers, including a center channel and an 8 â€subwoofer, and can operate in either classic stereo or 7.1 surround. Of course, only stereo is used to listen to any music audio disc, but if you develop a system with video display, then 7.1 is very useful. The amplifier is one - 8-channel with a central processor.
Sound. Actually, I was surprised how the 8 â€sub gives such a decent thrust. The bass is played out clearly and rhythmically. A huge plus is the already calculated and set time delays (given the large size of the salon). Sound from all sources is not lagging or unsettled. But the disadvantage of such a sub is the power at high volume. When 10 speakers reach their peak, the sub is already missing. The bottom is partially compensated by high-quality midbass, but drum or jungle is no longer the same =) A few words about the tweeters that are installed in the racks in the front and at the top of the rear doors. That's where the beauty of factory installation and customization comes in. The sound is clear and light, with a wide stage and utmost intelligibility of instruments. As distinct as the first winter creak of snow under the rubber sole. But anyway, the Americanism of the machine is felt: with all the breadth of the stage, you feel not in the middle of the hall, but on the stage with the musicians =) Perhaps this would be a disadvantage when participating in sound competitions, but no one sets such tasks for Avalon. On the other hand, the spacious, punchy sound is reproduced in an exciting way. Classics bring you up, and any electronics envelop you, as if on a dance floor.
Regarding the difference between building an audio system and paying for sound as an option from the factory, I have come to the unequivocal conclusion that a complete system from the factory has more advantages. (Provided that there is no goal of participating in sound competitions and there is no specific need for audio components, and the option for the best sound for a particular model exists).

By the way, Mazda also comes with a Bose audio system, but not all models. Land Rover is equipped with Logic 7, Harman Kardon. Super!

I completely agree, it is better to overpay right away but take a well-installed acoustics from the factory. For example, Audi has Boss, Bmw has Harman Kardon, Subaru-Macintosh, they all sound very worthy, for me personally!

Having already sold the car in which I did the tuning, I can say that the "super pens" still did not go without portacs. Therefore, I do not want to install anything in a new one, since everything from the factory is at a high level!

They will break something, I am already preparing money to replace the broken parts after this tuning. Although a hundred is certainly not the last, I chose the best one.
100% agree! No matter what super handles get into the car (champion installers), the jambs will and will continue to crawl out anyway!

Making a "correct" sound in a car is another task)) At the factory, everything is calculated more accurately and efficiently, BUT of course they save on components. For example, the difference in price between a regular Lexus and the fact that with Mark Levinson you can put into sound with great results! Although, in the end, everyone decides for himself whether to pay extra for the sound from the factory or invest later, but with a "personal" choice of installation.
For a couple of days now, my car is being finalized, just acoustic. Nothing seems difficult, change the speakers, add a sub, but it was not there. The next time I buy a new car, I will order myself a powerd audio system! It is very important for the car to sound high quality and expensive. ***** Toyota!
