Installing the intercooler - Toyota Sprinter Trueno, 1.6L, 1985
We continue, installing the intercooler
since the branch pipe going to the intercooler in the drain ae92 comes out vertically upward, it should be redone, namely, turn to be able to install the front intercooler, cut the pipe and argon it from the side
then we throw where the pipes will pass and the intercooler is located, I left the intercooler horizontal, just moved it to the front
after preliminary estimations purchased chrome tube with internal diamterom 50mm, as well as outlets in the 90g of rotation, it is worth noting that the pipe itself is a simple thin-walled chernyashka with chrome, but the taps made of stainless steel, there were doubts that it will be difficult they cook together, I was about to buy adapter electrodes for arc welding or go to a friend and again argon, but everything turned out to be simpler, stainless steel and nigella are perfectly cooked with a simple semiautomatic device
then there was the process of fitting pipes and bends, fastening on tacks and circular welding
the entrance directly to the manifold, the photo shows a welded nut with a screwed-in air temperature sensor at the inlet, the height of the nut is chosen so that the whole sensor body does not overlap the pipe section, the sensor enters the pipe by about 5-6 mm with a thermistor element
I note that there were no problems with fitting the pipe from the intercooler to the collector, but there were slight difficulties with the location of the lower pipe, but a little brain wiggling and patience, the lower pipe also fell into its rightful place
