Attracting attention or returning to basics. FAQ - Toyota Celica, 1.9L, 2001
Good day.
After the shaving was done, all mention of Toyota remained only on the front bumper. And I really liked the old selik badge, which was installed on the TA-40 probes ...
Hello Exist… (as this is an original spare part, it was in stock.) I
ordered it there. Less than 2 weeks have passed and now I am already holding a sparkling dragon in my hands ...
Pants full of joy ...
I come home and start unscrewing the grate. In principle, there are no problems, except that you must first remove the plastic under the hood.
Then unscrew the bumper from the TV and all this for the sake of just 1 screw
Next, heat the toyota nameplate with a hairdryer and smoothly cut it off with a knife!
Next, we sooooo carefully cut out the ovals in the nutria of the nameplate (I warn you! The nameplate is very strong, I almost broke the knife!)
Next, we carefully dry out the places where the ovals were with sandpaper, zero.
Then we go buy, find a transparent nail polish from a wife or a friend, and paint over the cleaned places.
Because the grill itself is made under the toyota badge, then the dragon does not look very good on it, so it must first be glued to the plastic surface, and only then to the grill.
We cut out a huge oval to the size of the entire nameplate.
Next, we take 3M double-sided tape (the kind on which these nameplates are glued) And first we glue the oval from the old nameplate, and then the dragon itself.
Next, we clean and degrease everything
Next, we take the lattice and glue the resulting nameplate to it
You can glue both 3M and something else.
Due to the fact that our hooliganism loves nameplates, I personally decided to stick it with dichloroethane, but I was told that it eats plastic, so I used Loctite 406.
And voila:
ps I apologize for the pictures, they did not stay on the computer, but on the forum, on the cat. I laid them out, they squeezed very much ...
Price tag: 400 ₽ Mileage: 153,000 kmIt was rather a general description. How to remake a nameplate in a typewriter. Not just for selica. BUT the dragon should shine only on the Celica;)
