WRC Version - Toyota Celica, 2.0L, 1994
For those who do not know the difference between WRC and simply GT-Four or do not believe in the existence of such a version:
2500 WRC cars were sold ...
2100 were sold in Japan and 300 to Europe, 77 to Australia and the remainder to the rest of the world ...
What extras were the WRC cars fitted with?
Writes a foreign site.
Water Injection
This was fitted but not activated on the car
The WI nozzle is mounted in the intake manifold
A different ECU is fitted and is labelled with "WI" against one of the ECU pins
Different intake manifold, with:
Additional manifold connection point - half way down cylinder No.4 runner. This is blanked off, but can easily be drilled out, (used as part of WI system)
Water Injection nozzle - this has extra associated pipe work and VSV at the rear of the manifold. The nozzle is mounted underneath the throttle body in a similar way to the 165 and 185 cold start injector (CSI)
Intercooler spray bar
Note that this is connected up as part of the headlight washer system
3 nozzles are fitted within the metal bumper support bar
ANTI LAG
High level rear wing - by the addition of spoiler raiser "cYGw0UdMo" to the standard 2 leg rear wing. Note that N '96 onwards 205s have a 3 legged rear spoiler
The spoiler raiser cYGw0UdMo are available as a genuine Toyota part
Informative, thanks for the article! There remains a residue - it always seemed that a simple GT-Four played in WRC, but it turned out that the legend was completely unattainable ...
… There were also differences in the suspension. Celics that participated in the WRC were equipped with titanium levers reinforced with triangles. I really don't think there was such a suspension on "2500 WRC cars were sold"))))
to be honest, everything that stands on the civilian version of the WRC is not a rally car, just a dummy if I may put it that way :)) neither anti-lag nor the like does not work, so the difference can be said no from the GT-Four. but the real cars that participated in the rally, it all worked and existed :)

Well, if you find the brains so that it all serves :)) with some kind of rally :)) selikia, otherwise the regular brain does not control all this :)) at least you connect it to him wherever :)))
By the way, the brain can really be found ...

Only the rally selica has nothing to do with the usual one, and even the WRC has nothing. Neither the suspension, nor the interior, nor the fuel and oil system, and in general, except for the body contours, there are no coincidences. The mere fact that the WRC cost $ 30K and the rally cost from 250,000 Euro speaks volumes. And their engine block is exclusive, and not the usual 3S-GTE
? Is even the block different? What about rejuvenation? After all, all cars participating in the WRC must be mass-produced. From here we have the opportunity to nupyat GT-Four, STI, EVO.
correctly noticed. although I once saw in one magazine. a very long time ago! the very 205 that participated in the rally seasons was put up for auction. and the price tag was 350 thousand bucks. so if there is some loot :)) then you can buy a real WRC :)) go ahead! :)) as well as the current to dream :))

interesting opinion!
and how clearly seen!
After all, I myself did not realize that the WRC appeared much later than Group A
Of course, I may be wrong, because arguing with the English editions is too much), but it seems to me that the terminology is confused. In this body, the Toyota Celica GT-Four competed in the World Rally Championship in 1994 (Canncunen held a couple of races, while Oriol fought for the title in a Toyota Celica Turbo 4WD until the end of the season) and 1995- m years, before disqualification. The GT-Four was prepared according to the rules of rally group A.
But the car of the WRC (World Rally Car) category from Toyota was presented only in 1997 and it was based on the Corolla.
The WRC (World Rally Cars) category itself was introduced by the FIA since 1997 and the first brands to prepare cars for these requirements were Subaru and Ford.
The British under "2500 WRC cars" most likely mean that "homologation" batch of road cars, which, according to the rules of the rally group "A", had to be released.
Rallying is fatal for this car. Preparing it is an expensive and time-consuming process, and most likely the karaoke will have to be thrown away, the exhaust will be instead of karaoke. and it will be hard to fall asleep in a typewriter =))
