Expansion Tank - Toyota Celica, 3.0L, 1984
In the absence of finance, I decided to do something that was not expensive. Namely, to make a new expansion tank, since the old one in its place interferes with the new engine.
Due to the fact that I'm used to doing everything from fiberglass, I will do it the same way. The idiot sculpted from plasticine so that he would definitely fit a new place. Made it translucent, so that it would be easier to control the level of antifreeze
It turned out great! Are you a supplier of expansion drums for TOYOT by any chance?
as you can see in the photo, he blinded the model from plasticine, stuck a bottle cap for the neck. I covered everything with a layer of wax, then two layers of glass mat with resin, more in the neck area. after drying, cut it in half and took out the plasticine. Then he glued it together and added two more layers of fiberglass, sanded it, covered it with resin, sanded it again. I filled in the remaining irregularities, sandwiched it evenly, and made the brackets along the way. then he sanded it off with a fine sandpaper, pasted over the place that did not need to be painted, primed it, painted it, varnished it all over.
Yes, I just put more fiberglass on the neck and grinded it in shape with bars and natfil.
