whitewashing headlights - Toyota Altezza, 2.0 l., 1999
On the forum (altezza-club.ru) I came across the topic of repainting optics. The idea immediately appeared to stir up the same thing. Many people paint their headlights black, it looks very good. Gathered to paint ...
There were no problems with removing the headlights, but with disassembly ...
People warm the headlights in the oven and take it apart, the headlight did not fit into my oven)) and I had to warm it up with a hairdryer. it took about 1.5 hours to disassemble the headlights.
The rear lights cannot be disassembled in this way, because they are not glued with a sealant and need to be sawed.
We used a dremel and a wood burner)))
in the end, in 3 hours I was able to disassemble the taillights.
before painting, we decided to take another look at the pictures with blackened headlights. and suddenly the idea flashed: "maybe in white?" in general we decided to paint it white))
here's what happened:
it turned out beautifully.
I still can't make up my mind to make out mine, I'm afraid they will "sweat".
Andrey31 please tell us in more detail how you did it, what paint you used, what did you do with the plastic, sand it, degrease it? I really need it…
yes, no matter, good luck with your work;)
if you will primer, then I advise you with white primer, tk. I had problems with painting (I used gray primer) the paint turned out a little gray ... but then I fixed everything))
the headlights were originally "chrome"… sanded, degreased, primed and painted (Toyota 040 paint to match the color of the car)
on silver black it will look;)
here is the 1st girl in the city on Altezza))))
and mine is silver ... I've also been inspired by your example, but with the choice of color there is a hitch)) most likely black should be done ...
uuu)) cool)))
it is necessary to prepare it before winter) but now it's so dirty, it's even a shame to go))
