Moving axles under the springs and installing turret shackles creates a risk of twisting of the springs. To eliminate this problem, a stabilizer rod (traction bar) is installed. The schematic is like this:

I found a photo from which the idea came to deploy the springs I will lay out in my sideboard in the continuation of the description of the pokatushek.

The springs remained in their native places. I did not touch them at all. The bridge stands exactly in the same place, only at the bottom of the springs.

Here on the last ride, I got in a very hard ass, and tore the cross of the front universal joint and the flange (ear) of the front axle. But the double cross withstood everything;)

The dive appeared not from the stiffness of the springs, but from the transfer of the point of their attachment. Although I left my family amorth. I did not install a double crosspiece, I considered it less reliable.
(Hilux practice)
Maybe I missed something in the rearrangement.

On points:
1. Raising the center of gravity - yes, I agree. Inclination to roll over after 38 degrees with lateral roll.
2. No dive, because the front springs left relatives, and they are very hard. And ammo are just barrels :)
3. Castor is at zero. The bridge is turned back to its original state.
4. The angles of the crosspieces on the drum, because installed cardan with a double crosspiece. Go to the snack there, mom do not cry!
5. Again, double-cardans have elongated splines. Just right for this type of work.

Bridges put a kind of spring with the overturn of earrings.
According to my feelings,
improved directional stability.
When entering an obstacle, does not fold the earrings. (I had such a disease)
Of not pleasant ones.
A sharp rise in the center of gravity and all that follows.
Dive when braking.
Or a problem with a caster.
Or the corners of the crosspieces fly into the wrong corner.
The overturning of the earrings is followed by the lengthening of the slotted universal joints.
Personal opinion about what was said at the beginning.

I, too, until I put the bridges under the springs :)

I heard about it for a long time, but I didn't really imagine that this was possible!

An interesting thing.

It can be useful when installing pneuma and removing part of the sheets,.

Why didn’t they raise the body, but went along the expensive and technically difficult path?
