Wheel painting - Toyota Celica, 1.8 L, 2000
I decided to post a small report on the painting of rims. Suddenly someone will come in handy.
My wheels (Rays Versus R17) were quite shabby and I didn't really like their gray color. And I decided to refresh them a little. I wanted to give it to a special paint brushes, and then I thought, what can't I myself? =) Color only wanted white.
I disassembled in the tire shop. Then I bought paint, primer and a lot of skins in Kuntsevo (special paint for painting wheels). And he went to the dacha.
I want to say that now, even for a lot of money, I would not repeat this. I sanded them for sooo long, sanded them with my fingers =) Then I covered them with primer. Well, after drying, I actually painted it.
If not for the crap with the removal of old paint, then everything is, in principle, easy. I was very pleased with the result. In time, I spent about 3 days on everything about everything, + the time until complete drying.
For the money:
- about 3000r. for tire fitting
- 4 cans with paint, about 500 rubles each. each
- 4 balloons with soil, about 300r.
- all sorts of skins, scotch tape ... still probably 500r.
Something like this =) I
post photos in chronological order:
The question was not about budget. I wanted to pozamorachivatsya myself at the dacha =) Until I knew what awaited me)
But in general, yes, for 6 thousand it is possible in the RLD, probably, I just think without taking into account the disassembly and boring)
Somehow not budgetary for hand-made, for example, in RLD it could be done for the same money, but there sandblast + powder paint ...
Thanks!
Frankly speaking, I don’t remember exactly, but it seems that I applied the primer in 2 layers, and the paint in 3. I wanted more, but I ran out of materials =) I dried it then just in the sun, because it was summer =) We lay there for 2 days, again I think we need more , but not enough patience =))
