Front bumper replacement - Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, 3.0L, 1998
After a few pokatushek and the need for them to go around some places in the forest, I thought about changing my own plastic bumper to a steel one, the so-called "power" one. Market research began as usual. And this study gave an understanding that the market is represented mainly by very famous companies, such as ARB, TJM, KDT, as well as some less famous ones. The budget for the purchase of such bumpers is required in the range of 50-60 tr. which I had never counted on. I began to study analogs offered on the market. While studying analogs on the occasion, I bought a T-Max 8500 winch. So, after going through the analogs, it was decided to purchase a copy of the Chinese-made ARB Safari bumper. It was said, the money was paid, we are waiting for delivery. While I was waiting for delivery, at the same time, I had an audit of the winch and did a full MOT, since I took a used winch. And then the long-awaited moment came, they brought me a bumper. I agreed with the guys I know from the service, took them a bumper and directly a car to install the winch and bumper. Well, what I bought a bumper without thinking about that later. In general, people are right when they say: "Kroilovo leads to a popalov." Well, more on that later. So all the stages of installation with a photo can be viewed on this site (not advertising the project is closed)4x4mania.presscom.org/service/47116.html .
Well, now about the purchase itself and its quality.
Metal is essentially normal with a normal layer of paint, but chrome rusted after the first precipitation. Regarding the fact that the bumper is power, the Chinese of course got excited, because if the guys had not digested it inside and installed additional power elements, then I think it would hardly have been power. So if you knew about this quality and how much the installation would cost to the price of the bumper, you could buy a branded ARB and not fool yourself (this is with regards to Kroilov :-)). But the fact remains, the bumper and lebeka were installed and withstood severe tests. There was even a moment of rolling at an angle of 90 degrees, the bumper moved 1 cm, but after loosening the cable it returned to its original position (the frame played). Also, he (bumper) was very useful on the last rides, since the track was very badly broken by the athletes, I had to go around this section through the forest, respectively, with the felling of dead wood with a bumper (not a single living tree was almost injured). Such is the story. To be continued.
