How frost defeated me - Toyota Caldina, 2.0L, 2004
So, unexpectedly for everyone, winter came, and with it the frost, now it seems to us that it is hellish frost, although 20 years ago it was perceived normally. Well, it just so happened that on Monday I ate something that was not tasty and by the evening I got sick, so bad that I even called an ambulance. The doctor said I will live, the main thing is to eat more medicines. And now on Tuesday morning I went to the pharmacy, which is located in the next building. Passing Kaldina, I thought it would be necessary to start it on the way back, so actually I did, Turn the key, the battery began to reluctantly set the starter in motion, and that engine. and a moment later it started up, I sat in a cold car and realized - it's time for me to go home - and drowned it out. Then a strange thought flashed in my head, but it would be worthwhile to warm up the car a little longer and charge the battery, but that was just a thought. And now Wednesday has come, it's time for me to deliver oil, I go out to the car, and on the street there is a real dubak and -28, as in principle all this week, I open and try to start and in response I hear the treacherous viu-viu from the starter and then the clicks of the retractor ...
Everything. arrived. I start frantically calling friends, who are free during the day and who have a car with wires, I found Pasha with my friends, but our attempts to start it failed. In the evening, my friend Vadim came to me and we repeated our attempts - everything was useless, the starter was twisting in vain to no avail. I gave the battery to Vadim to charge and decided that on Thursday morning I would certainly defeat this car ailment.
Thursday morning began with a trip to the tire service for a battery, only 20 minutes back and forth in the cold at -25 - a great start 8). I put the Battery down - I started to start - and again there was zero reaction. Then I went to the tire shop again and took the keys and another battery. I unscrewed the candles - I saw that they were all in gasoline and went home to dry them. After inserting the candles into place, I heard the already familiar sounds of the starter, but the engine did not start. And then I realized Kaldina wants warmth! We need to take her to the resort, I decided that on Friday morning I’ll take her to the service to warm up.
Friday morning: I open my notebook and start calling the tow trucks. They were divided into several categories
1) already broken
2) already occupied
3) stupidly podrazhnaya during the frost
4) "I'll call you back within 10 minutes"
Moreover, I have already called the "Emergency Service Angel" The young lady in a completely calm voice said - the waiting time is a day.
In general, by two o'clock in the afternoon I had a tow truck.
At three they were already unloading the car for a warm service. There I calmly unscrewed the candles, took out a couple of relays - blew out the cylinders from the gasoline, screwed the candles back in, and after an hour of unhurried work, Kaldina let out an uncertain snort. How good it is when the car is working!
