Alterations! - Toyota Corona, 2.0L, 1984
perhaps I'll take a description of all the alterations that I made with the car!
While hanging out in the service of Andrey Starozhilov, I mentioned the desire to change the engines for 3S-GE on my new acquisition! there and then the option was formed and after some time to my base (at work) the engine arrived along with the automatic gearbox! The automatic transmission suits me quite well, because at work I am constantly in the car and the box pretty much got me in the city! drove the car onto the overpass, threw off the hood and with the help of a truck crane and friends at work pulled out an old 1S-U and began to try on my purchase!
The problem has arisen during installation on a beam! The 3S-GE brackets did not stand on the beam, twisted from the native engine along with the pillows, they stood up like relatives (I did the same on the last car when I installed the 4S-FE) Apparently the series of S-engines are identical in blocks! Attempt number 2! the engine almost took its place but rested the dome of the box on the steering rack. it is not possible to move the engine forward or backward: the stove pipes no longer fit back, and the rail interferes even more forward! I solved the problem a little later - I put the rail from the brand 70 - I got up like a native, but I had to digest one of the oil pipes so that it did not rest against the box! The power steering pump turned out to be on the other side - I had to buy one and a half meters of hose and move the oil tank to the other side, since it stood there like a native! Yes, the first experience was not very good - the oil seals ran on the rail after "
The box stood up like a native, all fasteners and selector levers matched, only the support bracket had to be deployed. The cardan picked up from that one hundred in the service, combined 2 parts from different cardan shafts, drilled holes to fasten them together, and assembled the entire structure on the machine!
I removed the salon even before the service and gave it to familiar seamstresses for rewiring! Chose black flock and blue velor! It turned out great on the second try! Soon I will put on the car! The seats will be set from the rear of the XX - I liked it very much!
And now the car is almost ready in the service, there was a bit of bodywork and painting, and then looking at the pictures of my car's peers, the thought came to me that the pillar XX and the crown are very similar! There was an idea to attach a rear sight to your car! I phoned Alexey (also the owner of the coupe crown) and his friend found an unnecessary device in the back of the MA61.I measured the dimensions of the hood and fenders - the length of the muzzle was 10 cm longer, and everything coincided in width! Moreover, the interior and doors were the same! and I liked the seats! The car was pretty dead and Alexei and I bought this copy without docks for analysis!
The hood stood up like a native, the wings In the service, Starozhilov combined with his family,
slightly altered the bumper amplifier, the bumper itself turned out to be pretty pokotsany and I ended up buying it on the announcement on the drome! (I wanted to change the bumper for spare parts from the rear, but after a small exchange, the guy disappeared and does not answer letters! Well, figs with him, there are reliable people on the drome!) The exhaust was cooked for me there in the service - Sergey and Ruslan (another crown holder coupe)! I wanted to prime the muffler from Subaru, but in the end we settled on a direct-flow one. I don’t know why… The
electrician on the engine and the interior (I put the power accessories, the broom on the rear window, the headlight washer and the headlights themselves from the rear sight are connected by Ruslan (the master's namesake) The process is still going on…
Examining the rear arches, I decided to follow in the footsteps of oOPEH - they cut out the arches from the front fenders (when swaping they used the most in front of the fenders) and Andrey skillfully welded them to the rear arches! The rotten iron was cut off beforehand, the remains were minted and new arches welded on! it turned out even better than I expected - the rear axle overhang appeared!
