Retrofit kit for MINI COUNTRYMAN R60
[Yes, it was a very long break. Work swallowed me completely, taking evenings, nights and some weekends. And in parallel with this madness have to do the birthday of the St. Petersburg club, to prepare the car for BalticMiniChallenge and trite to sleep sometimes. But I promise not to abandon the blog for so long and occasionally write something. Of course, on the MINI-topic]
Today the article is informative and technical, and in my opinion relevant.
lights are shipped in large boxes, inside which is fixed a film — damage is excluded!
You can apply to a large MINI, Countryman namely am, as anyone, but the fact can not be denied: they make the sales of the brand more or less decent. Especially against the background of change bodies from R to F. a Few years ago, BMW came up with a very successful special versions of the Countryman and Clubman, due to which many have become owners of cars with a decent set of options and for a very reasonable price. Savings relative to the Builder worked great!
But any special offer is impossible without compromise, which in our case was the lack of xenon headlights. Despite the fact that the cars are equipped with climate control, heated seats and lighting, right light – the first thing I want to add. In March 2013 became available retrofit original xenon headlights for the little MINI – body-R56, R55 and related convertible/coupe/roadsters. In the fall of 2014, the automaker was pleased and owners of Kantemirov/Paymenow R60/R61 kit appeared to them.
so it looks in the original directory. For an individual block do not pay attention, it is not needed
The fundamental difference between regular xenon retrofit kit from is the power that allows you to easily add spell check (the body level sensors – 2 PCs, harness) and the headlight washer system (different tank, pump, wiring, hoses). The regular MINI has a xenon bulb with D1S base power of 35w and a maximum brightness of 3100 Lm. The headlights, offered as a retrofit, uses the D5S bulb, the characteristics of which – 25w power and 2,000 Lm brightness. For the record – a normal, halogen bulb socket H7 produces about 1200 Lm (depending on the manufacturer) and consumes at the same 55w. About the life of xenon lamps in comparison with halogen, and say no. I will not say that this alteration of 100% meets state standards, but the European standards, for sure :)
it's nice that it is not China. although — what's the difference?
The replacement process is simple, the lights are delivered fully assembled, you only need to remove the old and install the new one. No alterations to wiring, connectors or fasteners. Further coding required options in the car, so to do everything yourself at home is unlikely to succeed. Interestingly, if you want you can add a washer nozzle is already built into the headlight housing and fully functional.
it only remains to connect the pipe from the pump and you're done. Of course, if the pump is =)
The result is not only a significant improvement of illumination, but also nice appearance. The collage below is proof!
The cost of the two xenon headlights – 900 euros. Someone will say that it is expensive, but compared to headlight 35w this is not true – the headlight housings, control units and bulbs will cost around 1700 euros (with purchase of Philips lamps and not the original, which allows you to save).
