Celica with new headlights - Toyota Celica, 1.8 L, 2001

During the day, there are no complaints about my car) it drives fast, holds the road, always starts) but when evening comes… night… (outside the city, for example) the road is simply impossible to see. In addition, recently it was also left without a high beam - the head light switch relay burned out. And the headlights were not in perfect condition ... the anthers were torn, there was sand and dirt in the headlights. in addition, over time, they turned yellow and the plastic was scratched, scattering light. There was a desire to remove the headlights and put them in proper shape ... but the car is needed for every day and it was unrealistic to do it. It was decided to buy new headlights and stick xenon into them.
However, a recent trip to Chelyabinsk for a friend in Chelyabinsk showed how stock headlights (and similar ones) are unsuitable for a long trip during a snowstorm, muddy slush on the roads, etc. In general, the car quickly went blind. If you pay attention to the headlights at the selica, you can see that the low beam (with lenses) is located in a kind of cap, which has a higher fairing ... and so, the dirt, rising up the headlight due to the force of the oncoming flow, begins to accumulate at the base of the fairing and overlap behind the layer, it generally blocks the access of light to the road. The car goes blind.
When my friend and I were driving back from Chelyabinsk, due to problems with the headlights, we had to maintain a distance with the truck and go out to overtake much earlier than usual (well, at least VVTL-i helped with this) and even stopped and wiped the headlights several times.
Accidentally in the Internet I came across a photo of new headlights for a selica in the back 23. Loved it! I ordered it on ebay, and my sister who lives in America helped with the delivery (Thank you very much, Fanuza!). I received the parcel right after the New Year celebration! It was decided to install new headlights immediately! Xenon SHO-ME was purchased: 2 ignition units and 2 H3 lamps with a temperature of 5000K. It was decided to install it on our own. We borrowed the keys to the garage from friends.
They threw off the bumper (in some places "non-standard mountings" were found with self-tapping screws to the body), removed the headlights, tried on the locations of the ignition units ... degreased everything with vodka :) Everything was assembled, including the bumper which had the wrong "lip" planted and rejoiced at the result. The light with the new headlights is not exactly better ... but even better! :) just the sky and ... the Mariana Trench. Diodes (there are 9 of them in each headlight) look great) they do not shine, but the dimensions indicate) In general, now it is not scary to leave at night.
Due to the fact that the neighbor is located at the bottom ... and the headlight has no convex parts, the dirt rises higher and climbs onto the fender, the hood) the car does not go blind. And Toyota's appearance is refreshed)
