Replacing the thermostat on the 1G-EU engine
Foreword
The work was carried out in accordance with the instructions of GANS.
The timing of the work can be traced to the time in the photo. The procedure was carried out using the following tools:
wrench # 10,
WD-40,
Phillips screwdriver,
containers for draining antifreeze.

Description of the process
1. We are looking for the location of the thermostat on the engine (Photo 1)

2.Finding the installation location, unscrew the intake air duct to facilitate work and take it to the side (Photo 2)

3.We take a closer look at the installation site (Photo 3)

4. "Cleanliness is the guarantee of health" (c) - we wash the dirt (Photo 4)

5.Before starting to remove the thermostat, WE SCREW the radiator cap. (Photo 5)

A) Next, we substitute a container for pouring out antifreeze from the bottom of the thermostat housing;
B) unscrew the two bolts securing the thermostat housing;
C) loosening the case, disconnect it;
D) trying to keep the detached part of the case (together with the branch pipe) at the same level with the place where the thermostat is installed, we pick out the old thermostat;
E) at this moment, the flow of antifreeze will increase from the place where the thermostat is installed, so we install a new thermostat at the workplace as soon as possible;
E) then, in quiet mode, align the thermostat in the seat and install the cover and the pipe in place (Photo 6)

7. Here he is the culprit of an unheated engine, barely warm air from the stove, increased fuel consumption, non-included overdrive (by the way, the thermostat is native, installed at the factory in the 4th month of 1984 ) (Photo 7 and Photo 8)
