We paint the suporta - Toyota MR-S, 1.8 L, 2002

Almost all cars do not paint the caliper from the factory. When the car just leaves the gates of the factory, the calipers are virginly clean and do not annoy the eyes with their obscene appearance. The same cannot be said about the brake machines of cars that have already traveled across the vastness of our vast homeland. Traces of corrosion appear on the calipers, the central part of the brake disc. This may not be very strong, but spoils the appearance.

In the summer, it was decided to paint the whole thing. Ara doesn't like tuning, so there was no desire to completely fill the entire support with bright red / yellow / etc. I decided to paint everything in a simple matte black color and add a little paint to the body color.

And so, we need:

1. Paints, preferably in spray bottles (I think it's more convenient to apply) 7 I took the simplest paint for 100 rubles. Sense in special. I don’t see the paint for the calipers, because, firstly, half a year has already passed, and this cheap paint has not peeled off anywhere, and secondly, my friend painted the thermo-casing on the exhaust manifold with the same paint - there is the same after half a year from temperature, the paint does not peel off.

2. A metal sponge, you can use a brush or sandpaper - just remove the rust.

3. Degreaser, which is applied before painting. In any retail store.

4. Rag for applying gasoline / acetone, etc. for cleaning.

5. Masking tape. We paste over areas that do not need painting.

Immediately a sensible note: it is better not to paint the working part of the brake disc, but even if some of the paint gets on it, it's okay, after the first braking everything will be erased. But it is also worth covering the main part of the surface, because as a friend after painting (in general, he completely flooded the working surface), he immediately decided to slow down well, and the pads were simply torn off from the metal base. The paint was still fresh (10 minutes had passed), the pads were old and had cracks at the base.

Now a couple of photos before:

Well, the process itself:

Well, a couple of tips for last.

It is necessary to paint 3-4 layers. Red even 5 was required. And avoid bubbles. If you leave them, then they begin to burst and the base is visible through them. If they do appear, it is better to erase and paint again with the same gasoline.

I took it in Autograd, I think it will not be a problem to buy it on the mountain one. And on the cylinders there seems to be nothing about the temperature.

and where exactly did you get this paint in Siba?
there the temperature characteristics are not written on the balloon?

Yes, most likely in the summer I will repaint, because I painted for the first time and messed up a lot (in some places there were bubbles).

If I had used white primer, one layer of paint would have been enough;)
And the color would have turned out more saturated. I painted like this on Rex.

eagles, I also tried to paint. a lot of trouble but it looks, but it's worth it. though I did not paint the caliper, I experimented with chrome caps. I took three colors of fluorescent paint, it turned out original, it's a pity I didn't take pictures, and I lost everything on the passes. I barely got hold of phosphoric paint in a can, I want to try it on the calipers. good luck on the road!

Well, what to do, we must first prevent the people, anything can happen. The case described above is absolutely real)))

Completely killed :)

Soon I will paint my calipers and most likely the brake disc hubs.
Helpful info, thanks!
