Body repair. Part 2 - Toyota Camry, 2.0L, 1987
Continuation of welding work:
I have a front frame that in front of the hood was oh, how shabby (I survived more than one accident), but now it has grown together with the hood and the so-called cilia were welded to it:
The front arches on the fenders were also repaired before me, but it was very crappy, they were plastered over like liquid nails, puttied and painted. At first, I began to make arches from fiberglass from the reverse side, but when I cleaned the wing I saw that the entire arch was rotten, and decided to weld it on:
At first, I began to putty the car on the old paint, before that I sanded and degreased it, but then I decided to clean it off to metal, because in some places the varnish had come in, and it was painted twice already. It was possible to align what was beaten by hail in almost all places.
The trunk is a separate topic! When I cleaned it, I probably cleaned off not a single kilogram of putty, and in those places where nothing prevented me from properly aligning!
I collect consumables, and that's only half. In general, when calculating the cost of any improvements, you need to multiply the amount by at least 1.2 - these are driveways, and all sorts of little things, and consumables that were not studied in advance.
At the moment, the car looks like this. This is not the final bumper. All work on the body was left for the spring, it is cold in the garage, and +20 is needed for putty, primer, and epoxy. Therefore, I'm waiting for spring:
Continuation will not be soon ... I am engaged in the salon, which was eaten by mice ( Mileage: 300,000 km
Yes, I have the same problems) all in money. If I had money I would probably buy another car, but now I am gradually starting to fall in love with it.
Thanks! Poorly, the garage is not heated, and it is impossible to heat such an area with either a potbelly stove or heaters. And it is located a 20-minute walk from the house. I would live in a private house with a garage, already a dozen of them would be blinded =) And so, like you, everything remains until spring (
ABOUT! The process of creating a body kit has started).
Well done! It's good when there is a garage) I would also hang out there at night)
Good luck and look forward to new photos! )
He just raised the bumper higher, and the view changed) Yes, I also have new ones, the old owner broke his face a little, and bought new ones, only right-handed ones.
Cheto thought from something else headlights. Poidea from the Corolla depot (DEPO) could be delivered with crystal. We finally have them for a thousand rubles.
Right now the face has changed a little, raised the bumper under the headlights close!
I didn't have tumanoks in my headlight like yours, we even have a slightly different headlight shape, mine is longer. And I'll put tumanki!
I didn't even look for repair ones, I think it's unrealistic to find them!) And I made metal from pieces, welded and straightened to fit! Right now, they don't look like the original!
