I thought, all the methods of protection that I heard about were not even very perfect (pasting with construction tape, which is sometimes removed along with beauty, etc.). Climbed into the Internet. Several hours of searching yielded results - Liquid rubber or, in other words, "liquid cover", here is a wonderful salvation. Then it became even more difficult - the idea is there, but the implementation ... Followed by a week of running through the auto shops of our valiant city. The result is the same - no one has even heard of this. Only by the end of the second week, in a small shop on the edge of town (as usual), where I got by accident, I found what I was looking for. My joy knew no bounds. I took a jar for a sample.
First trip.
In the evening, preparing the car for the road, I applied this composition to my favorite. Of course, there were many doubts. how the paint will behave under this very coating. But there is nothing to do - you have to try.
A little about the composition:
I am writing from a can - Natural and synthetic latexes, surfactants, corrosion inhibitors and all this is diluted with plain water
It is applied to a clean body with a regular paint brush in two to three layers. From personal experience - to apply without rubbing in two layers - this is quite enough. At the border of the surface to be painted, it is better to stick a strip of ordinary electrical tape, which will be the border of the coating. Again, from experience - otherwise, at the border of the coating, places are obtained where it does not lie in two layers, but in one, which subsequently makes it difficult to remove it.If it still happens, then Kerkherovskaya concentrated liquid for no contact washing saves (apply on with a soft cloth and with light circular movements remove the dried coating, then rinse with water) The drying time of the layer is 15 -20 minutes, after which you can safely apply the second one - it turned out so that by the time I finished covering, the place from which I started was already dry.
Protection from small stones, midges and any debris is provided. From bitter experience - it does not save from large ones, a dent and a scratch remained on the hood, but the frontal one was saved - the blow of this stone apparently passed along a tangent, changing direction, catching on the rubber (tore out a piece).
Removing the cover is easy, just use your fingers to roll the cover along the edge so that you can grab and pull - it's simple. For a more convenient and easy removal, moisten with plenty of water and allow to soak for a couple of minutes. Everything has been removed, along with small particles of sand and harmful midges, which are always washed away only after the second third of the wash. The cover must not be kept for more than 10 days - there may be an uneven fading of paint from sunlight.
Be ready.
The cover is produced (what I have seen on sale) in two colors - white-matte and black-matte, who needs what color. But. Be prepared for the fact that almost all traffic police posts will be yours and everyone will not only ask but also feel. The attention of passers-by will also not be as usual. At first I finally covered the entire bumper, hood, pillars and mirrors. You understand - everyone was interested in what happened to the car.
Well, these are trifles in comparison with the fact that you pay special attention to the weather. Again, from personal experience, thank God it is not bitter. On the road, it started raining at night, and due to the temperature difference between the hood and the rain, plus water (dissolution medium), my cover peeled off and began to flop on the hood as the flag flew in the wind. For a long time I could not understand what was happening, but when I understood, to be honest, I was not frightened as a child. If all this jumped off on the frontal, the consequences on the night serpentine in the rain could end in tears. The only thing that saved me was that when applying the coating, I did not make the border between the bumper and the hood, but covered everything in solid. On the bumper, everything remains to hold on perfectly, but what is wet is nothing terrible.
