Tuning part 2: Release - Toyota Celica, 2.0 L, 1993
Continuing the theme of "smothering" the engines =) The
stock jam all burned out, sagged and generally fell asleep in his hands. It was decided that a normal forward flow was needed.
Especially in order to check all the bends and take measurements, another stock muffler was bought, just not so dead. They took off the dimensions, painted everything, threw it out and drove to the south. At first, they thought to buy only a can, and we will weld custom pipes ourselves. But then we stumbled upon an exhaust for a model 10 vase and most surprisingly it was 90% fit. Naturally, we bought the entire MG-race from pants to can. the diameter was 60mm, the stock was 54mm.
The work took about 10 hours, but I was satisfied with the result:
1) perfect silence at idle, you might think that the stock
2) urban mode 3-3.5k - a pleasant bass sound, it does not bother either in the cabin (although there is still no noise) or people on the street.
3) 6-7k - a terrible rumble =))
