Installed rear disc brakes! - Toyota Sprinter Trueno, 1.6 L, 1999
Well, now it's time to take this step towards another moment of tuning!
Installation took 8 hours without pumping the brakes!
Faced one problem, when unscrewing the flange, broke the pipe (brake line),
I had to re-expand the pipe, which was done by the familiar master.
I didn’t feel it yet, but the brake pedal became a little stiffer and began to grab immediately.
I'm waiting for the pads to get used to it to feel the beauty of braking!
On the way to replace the front brakes with two-piston Levin BZ-R with multi-link SSS suspension.
In order:
What did you do.
Made a 2mm spacer to center the disc in the middle.
Reduced the disc in thickness and diameter in the same way as above.
The bracket itself was ground off by 3 mm.
Everything else got up without problems.
I left the hoses as standard, but I really didn’t like the bend and I decided to do it a little. I
made a corner and drilled 2 holes in it.
I haven't really felt it yet, but the pedal has become a little stiffer.
Of the problems:
There was a runout of about 0.7 mm on the disc, it was possible to align it without resorting to tools ...
Usually, on stock brakes, it was enough to slow down 3 times from 160 as the car stopped completely slowing down and the brake discs heated up to red.
I didn’t see anything like that on the Stratovsky brakes yesterday, which makes me very happy)))) But the pads smelled very strongly :)
