Preparing for polishing ... - Toyota bB, 1.3L, 2004
In general, after long discussions about what to polish, the choice fell on the paste by number ... BMW ... who are interested I will write a little later if necessary.
The point is that GOA, as it turned out, is not very suitable for a CHROME surface ... it is better for it to polish metal, but not a chrome surface.
And the paste from the German car industry (by the way, the number was original and the packaging of the left manufacturer), was chosen because of its not at all high (250r) cost ... and because, unfortunately, no one in our country can give me a prof. polish from "Turtle Wax" (Turtle Wax) ... they have I found such a good ... but alas ...
So now the guard is the only day off and the opportunity to call in to whom the thread is in the garage ... because the polishing process will occur exactly when the wheels rotate the car itself)
But that is another story…)
ps. advice, opinions are welcome.
... you put the car on the lift, turn on the "D" and polish forward ...))) but you can only do the shelf ... well, maybe a little my center ...
otakot;)
I thought more than once, if the weather does not improve, then I will try ...
indisputable + in the rotation of the wheel ... and, accordingly, "rubbing" the place
about what - with a hand ... injury is possible everywhere, the main thing is how to approach ... everything is harmful in our life;)
in general, let's see what's what ... thanks for the statement.
under "call in to whom the thread in the garage" I did not think about the lift, the maximum is a hole) If there are such friends with a lift, then of course ...)
The uniformity and uniformity is still only determined by eye, so it is better to devote as much time as possible to each wheel, then the result will be worthwhile. I also have no experience, but logically, even this approach is incorrect, well, as a finishing one back and forth, when the rims already shine to walk. Rotation will prevent you from seeing areas that require more careful polishing. In addition, safety, if with a grinder, then in the midst of it you can poke a disc with a typewriter, or vice versa. If by hand, then get injured. But that's all IMHO. If without removing and without a lift, then jack up only so that you can turn the wheel to the next untreated area, although sitting in a cool garage is also not very pleasant.
ps. . at home it would be nicer and more comfortable) I would skid one wheel at a time and in the warmth leisurely with tea breaks ...
what does it mean out of place? and, accordingly, what is more convenient?
it seems to me that the method on the lift allows you to achieve "uniformity" of polishing throughout the rim;)
I will not argue, I have no such experience at all, so I will be glad to any advice that will be supported by something :)
in a good way, it would be better to remove the wheels and polish them out of place, well, first of all, it is more convenient ...)
In general, on Sunday (yesterday) there was an experimental start ...
Half an hour of efforts and friction of one place on the rim ... did not give results (adequate), a little bit of turbidity went away ... but no more ... (
on the central part everything is different - there was almost a mirror, but small dots along the entire diameter cannot be removed ...
conclusion - for the rim you probably need a car ...
for the central part you need to try a car, or select a whole day off ...
