LSD repair - Toyota Corolla, 1.6L, 1998
Finally, I pulled myself together and decided to repair and tune my LSD. According to its former owner, this is TRD, I ordered a repair kit and rings for adjusting the preload.
On Saturday morning, in 4 hours alone, I took off the box and decided to take it to my good craftsmen from the neighboring town of Lytkarino.
The process of disassembling the box began at 22.00. Pulling out the differential and disconnecting it from the crown of the GP, I was slightly horrified, this is not TRD, but in general the hell knows what kind of company, because I have not seen such. The case is very similar to the Cusco, but inside everything is incomprehensible. Although I was pleasantly surprised that the friction discs have worn out very little. During the research, it was clear how this crap works and what needs to be done. It was decided to simply increase the preload with the ordered rings, which was done, during the long picks of the rings, a preload of 6 kg was set. We collected the box by 5.00 in the morning). And at 11.00 the next day, the process of installing the korobas was already in full swing.
A lightweight TRD flywheel was also installed. The oil in the box was filled with TRD gl-3 for LSD.
Having finished we went for a test drive. The block works as it should, the wheelbarrow climbs inside the turns, skidding both wheels. In general, everything turned out as it should.
