Dashboard Version 3.0 - Toyota Celica, 2.0L, 2000
So, my tidy has undergone the next tuning. The standard orange backlight and tachometer, which is hidden under the steering wheel spoke during active driving, are already pretty fed up to me.
Then I decided to disassemble the freshly bought Apexi DECS tacho and build it right in the middle of the dashboard. The external diode flash, made of aluminum, had to be brought forward.
But that's not all. To the left of the tachometer is the Dell PDA screen. It is constantly connected to the car computer, and is used as an additional screen where you can display any information.
Now the screen shows the active playlist, while driving, the speed in kilometers and warnings about traffic police posts and radars are drawn.
This is how it looked live on the old version of the tidy, when the screen was still in the middle. I drag and drop a window from the main display to the dashboard display.
Another video demonstrating the work of the additional screen.
Then I processed a piece of plexiglass in the shape of a tidy and tinted it with a film. It turned out very cool. When the ignition is off, the instruments are not visible at all.
We turn on the ignition, the tachometer performs a self-test cycle - it makes a full circle with an arrow from 0 to 11 thousand revolutions and tests its LCD screen with numbers.
At the same time, the native indicator of the engine temperature and the amount of gasoline in the tank turns on - the only thing that remains untouched. Although I still changed the backlight to red!
After a few more seconds, the PDA turns on to the left of the tachometer, establishes communication with the computer - and you're done!
The whole system is assembled! For the quality, I apologize, as I took pictures then on an ancient soap dish. But in general, everything is somehow so, and practically did not change.
I'm happy with the result!
Thank you! I do everything except the motor swap and paint brushes with the car myself. Or I go to a "friendly" service, where I stand and explain to the masters what to do and how.
I probably will write in every topic "ahrenet" ... I have not seen this before ...
you have golden hands
There is such a program - SideWindow. To show the speed, I simply displayed a separate window. But then I refused such a bundle - it turned out not very stable.
But how did you tie the PDA screen to the main computer? And how did you do the speed so that it was displayed on this screen?
scoured YouTube. came here and found leokar)
very informative)
so much technique and everything works I'm amazed.
Her, there is a non-native tachometer. In the state, the arrows rose only if the power was turned off from the device and turned on again.
