Garage Cases - Toyota Corolla Levin, 2.0L, 1996
There will be little text. Frankly speaking, there is nothing to write about. The works are not the most abstruse. We bring the suspension of the vegetable car to a more or less decent.
"The first day.
- installation of Koni sport springs
- replacement of stock levers with levers from BZ (they have cute ears under the stub)
- installation of front brakes from BZ-G
Photos are also small. =)
ps work is progressing slowly. We are lazy and with a lot of things to do besides the car. I will be a pedestrian for a few more days. And maybe the father will give his club-handed one to use))))
If Seryoga does not break something again (he has already broken it, it has already been a bit lost with the expectation of a part), then by the weekend I think to be on it. =)
Well, yes ... When it breaks down unexpectedly and the car is needed then just to do it. Sometimes it happens.
ps I think you can use "you" too;)
Otherwise it happens when it is necessary to do it, even though there is no required experience and special knowledge. And you won't get any good advice from local service men.
Thank you, I will wait for your results and impressions! ;)
How else? I try to approach everything so that there would be no surprises later. )
ok) measurable.
You prepared well :) And I, one might say, put it at random.
If you have the opportunity, measure the distance from the top of the front shock absorber housing to the bump stop (i.e. free play) in the working position (with the wheels installed and the jack lowered). It is interesting to compare with yours :)
So I have a kayaba that I don't remember. We looked at them on the site on the topic whether they are normal with these springs or not, it turned out to be normal. So in any case the manufacturers answer.
Stock were kayabas - and the front ones were the same in size, but differed in the number indicated on the body - I suspect that the rigidity was also different :)
And what stock shock absorbers were there?
As I try it, I will immediately write about my impressions. :)
After my stocks - very cool! The car has become tougher, lower and looks more interesting. With these springs, the travel of the strut naturally decreased, so the stock shock absorbers (especially the front ones) were very often punching to the bumpers. The next season I sawed up the racks and installed koni-sport cartridges with adjustable rigidity. On a flat track, their work suits me :) And the shortcomings of a short-stroke sports suspension when driving on our roads are known to everyone :)
It is interesting to know your impressions after the test drive! ;)
Congratulations on your new clothes! :)
I installed such springs for myself two years ago, and then also sports cartridges from koni.
I put the disks ge from the Makovsky suspension. they are single piston. two-piston is from the stratum.
+ caliper bracket changed. The support itself remained from the fairy.
Ideally, the support should also be changed. On fe and ge they are a bit different. But here I have not changed. For more than a year (we were on our second car - a little bit, we also did this operation) on such brakes and everything is fine.
