Overheating - Toyota Mark II, 2.5L, 1999
One of the "weaknesses" of the machine. It was scary - heat, smoke from under the hood. and you don't know at all what to do with all this.
Naturally, there was no question of any antifreeze that is in the trunk.
And before that, I saw a funny picture in the garage box: two craftsmen arrived in a "seven" and decided to fix something. They opened the hood, opened something under the hood and the trend. Smoke and wild op. As a result, the one who opened "something" had severe burns to his hands and face, the whole car in antifreeze and the entire garage.
The prospect of repeating this with me did not please me at all.
- I had to use a "call to a friend".
- Take a taxi for antifreeze.
- And then in 40 degrees heat with the stove turned on before service.
Bottom line: the cap on the radiator broke.
Positive points:
- Modules the radiator;
- Replaced an incomprehensible antifreeze with an understandable one;
- Now I always carry with me a spare cap for the radiator and antifreeze;
Only God is clear why the craftsmen on the seven opened the boiling engine))) In general, the phenomenon is very rare) To overheat the brand is very difficult) The engine did not begin to exhale blue smoke from the exhaust?
hi ... I also burned my hands so well, when my "friend" began to overheat, I was in a hurry to save him from the high temperature ... the matter turned out to be in the punctured radiator, there was no smoke, steam, yet it did not boil, but little pleasant. The radiator was sealed, the antifreeze was changed (by the way, the craftsmen in the service almost mixed antifreeze with antifreeze!
