DIY plastic hood - Toyota Corona, 1.8 L, 2000
With Sokolik, the production of a fiberglass hood began. For the first time, the result is not bad, although the work is not yet complete. Holes and gills are still ahead :) A few photos:
Price tag: 4 000 ₽There is no sense, it was just that there was nothing to do in winter, I decided to try it. When I make the gills there will be beauty :)

there is always a meaning. when people do not suffer from idleness and their hands know what to do. one hell is better than somewhere stupid to vegetate with beer and kill your liver or blow nonsense and kill the brain))))
well done device from the heart ... all the more so if you put a couple of kilograms of the hood down on the palyubas machine and she will thank you for that and the mass is smaller and the cooling is better ... well done
even so, put a couple of kilograms to reduce the palubas machine at least 5, or even 7
Thank you! The first experience of such work turned out to be successful, although there are a lot of mistakes, but there is no way without them. The weight of the hood without spackle and painting is 5.5 kg. Work has been paused so far, at work a blockage has started building a garage.

Healthy! While everything has become a dead weight :) I will have time to draw up a full photo report, all the photos are there and how the matrix was removed, and how the hood was molded. For money, do not expect it to be cheap, I used cheap materials and paid for this with a rather serious deformation of the matrix and the product. Plus, I couldn't stand the time of the matrix hardening on the hood. So far there is no time to describe all the mistakes and lessons learned, although after the hood, PTFs with lenses and a podium for a radio tape recorder have already been made, but I will devote a separate post to this. If you have any questions, write, I will help you with advice, I will tell you where to buy good materials.
cool)
how are you with the hood? Describe everything in more detail, how did you make the form? put on top of the drain? I just have a crumpled hood ... I think to buy a new one, that is to say, a contract ... and I still need to find it ... and recently the dudes offered to make it out of plastic, in principle, the same goes for money ... so, in my thoughts, start production ... already drive with a crumpled muzzle)
Why are there many animals in Tomsk? hood maniacs! (In the sense of tearing off))))
polyester resin, gelcoat (I did without it and this is a minus), glass fabric, separator, a lot of time and desire)
