Production of plates instead of glass - Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, 2.7 L, 2000

So ... after a long silence, let's continue :) Just something less and less free time: (as soon as a free minute falls out, I immediately run to the garage :)
I retreated to the garage ... well, to the point:
After the failed competitions, EMMA decided to break everyone nafik at the SPL in Nakhodka, since there was enough time for preparation. Even then I noticed that the rear vents did not "hold" the pressure of the kmk because of them they did not get the cherished shares of db :) maybe I was of course mistaken (although at high levels around 150 dB, they would have to be changed anyway for something) something stronger)
So, the idea was born in my head to make the plates on our own from glass mat, and not cast with the body, namely as linings in order to give the car brutality :) It was immediately decided to use sculpting again, only now it will be very noticeable, i.e. to. the plates are not small, respectively, and the sculpting will be the same ...
Of course, anyone can say that fuck so much if you can weld metal from metal and make cast ones with a body. but I don't know how to work with metal (yet) but I wanted to do it myself, and that's exactly how it was interesting what would happen, and then what else is the point of tuning if not in the tuning itself? :))))
Everything is done according to the usual scheme - the surface is rolled with food foil (it is better to pre-wet the surface with water - then the foil will perfectly fit and adhere) then we begin to apply glass mat and soak it with resin (I did it with polyester). That was my first joint! for such a case, it was better to use not a glass mat, but glass wool! since the surface turns out to be practically perfectly flat and as a result show a minimum. in general, the jambs at work - the first plate began to be made immediately with glass mat - the surface turned out to be extremely uneven - I just bothered to take it out: (the second plate started out of my mind - glassy, ​​but I applied too few layers and took it off ahead of time, as a result of which it turned out that when I had already removed and applied subsequent layers - the thickness was insufficient and under the weight of new layers - it bent and became not as even as it should:
now on sculpting: everything is simple here :))) found where in the city there is an electronic router for advertising - on it in fomex they cut out the inscriptions / letters I needed, then after some sandpaper processing the letters are stenciled to the surface, primed on top, primed, paint , paint - and that's it! as if they were here and were :)))
