Kara-Bus or Mega-Buhlobus. In fact, not a prototype and not of its own design, but a Toyota Coaster bus on a Toyota MegaCruiser chassis, just this is not provided in the model menu. Belongs to Dima Mamaev (Karabas), all modernization work was done by Dima Eroshenko (Gnome). Since they are both lazy, I write. The device is unique, I don't think there will be another one like this in Russia. Its original purpose is not very clear, since a completely ordinary civilian bus cabin is put on the Megacruiser chassis (anyone interested can see its TD here www.megacruiser.com/specifications/). Some of the Megakruser's technical options are excluded (or not used), the frame has a greater length with the same base length. In particular, there is no wheel pumping, but there is everything for it, except for the controls themselves and special hub covers.
In the process of converting for an off-road camper, the following was done:
- the rear overhang was reduced by cutting off 70 cm of the frame, the body was cut off and re- docked accordingly;
- enlarged arches for the installation of 37 "wheels (mud Nitto on disks from shishiga);
- installed a lever and a lowered engagement rod from the passenger compartment;
- installed a front winch KamAp 15000;
- welded aluminum snorkel;
- front and rear light-alloy power bumpers;
- underbody protection front and rear tank;
- light-alloy outer frame for protection from trees;
- additional light (six tank headlights).
It seems like everything ... The
check showed the presence of LSD of the Thorsen type in both bridges, it should also be present in the distribution box.
