DIY cabin filter. - Toyota bB, 1.5L, 2003

DIY cabin filter - Toyota bB 15L 2003

Somewhere on the forum I read that you can make a salon cabin yourself from a filter for hoods. The original took rubles for 600-700 rubles that year, and in terms of efficiency it will not be better than a homemade one. And here 550 rubles will be enough for 4 times, I'd better change it more often. Here's what happened ...

Yes Yes. I remember that there was a matter of how you turn on the stove for the whole, and what just does not fly in your face - all sorts of little leaves.

Another tip - check the drainage holes on the panel under the windshield. I had them clogged with all sorts of shit (leaves, earth) and after a lot of rain, water was collected and poured through the air intake under the front rugs and there was a swamp, was tortured to dry.

The right thing to do! If you throw out that kind of money for every little thing, you can go broke, especially since the effect is the same) I also want to muddle up a similar system, only from a filter for a vacuum cleaner, not because the standard one does not suit, but because it does not exist)) It just does not bother so much dust flying from the air, and constantly there is stuck trash, which now and then pops) I bet 55! )

I think that the cabin and air filters do not have to be the original. And I don’t skimp on consumables, I take original TOYOTA.

By the presence of measuring instruments, the fit was very accurate))))

White layer - tolerance +2 mm (with interference), black - by eye.

A cool alternative to the original filter, although yours can also be said to be original. Good advice about drainage holes in the panel under the windshield should be checked too.

Until I climbed to the filter, the former owner said that he changed less than 1tkm ago, but thanks for the idea!) As far as I understand, only the filling changes, only the frame remains from the original?

The bezel is the filter housing into which the filter itself is inserted. My homemade one, to be honest, is worse in quality than my native Japanese. But no worse than the one that I bought here (came from Rav4).

Did you find out when disassembling the evaporator?

As it turned out, the hood filter is not able to retain fine dust, pollen and other small particles, and in summer there are plenty of them on the road

Got it. Thanks for the advice. I will consider. It's just that the homemade product seems to be the same in terms of functionality. Or am I wrong?

You cannot save on the cabin filter. When the evaporator is full of dirt and dust from a bad filter, the condender will start to smell like wet rags. And this can no longer be defeated either with foam or other bactericidal agents, only cleaning the evaporator. I myself am now struggling with Conder (I have tried a lot) and regret that I was saving on cabin filters. I also put such a hood, but in vain! It is not necessary to install original and coal ones, you can take them for 200-300 rubles and change them 2 times a year, it is not so expensive.
