13. Suspension - understatement. - Toyota Sprinter Trueno, 1.6 L, 1998

So there was free time to take care of the car. It was decided to install long-standing springs with an understatement. I measured in advance the height to the upper point of the wing - 64 cm on all wheels - "tractor" - perhaps because of the lightening of the car + only a bucket in the cabin, and for the summer I stuck a carbon fiber hood.

I started with the rear ones - well, everything is simple here: two bolts for attaching the rack to the fist, a stabilizer nut, 3 nuts for attaching the rack to the glass. Anthers and bump stops for replacement, the springs are not tight - you can neatly disassemble without ties.

We stick in new ones - we assemble in the reverse order. But I had to really tinker with the front ones - the podzatuby strat did not want to let go of the ball ones - so the struts had to be removed with fists and only then they were disconnected, the ear of the brake hose attachment sawed off with a grinder so as not to spin the brake line, and not to pump the brakes after. (I unscrewed the earring, steering tips, stub, drive, brake calipers). Remove the front springs only with ties! One boot and a support bearing gasket for replacement. Putting it back together and see the result. -2 cm from the back and -1 cm in front - damn it - I expected more, I got from the garage along a broken road to the asphalt with the thought - "What the fuck did I put them on?" wasted, the springs are more noticeably stiffer than the stock.

Congratulations on the new thing, the thing is really very useful.
With springs, the RS-R really rides much better, even on the IAC! Bumps, turns are much tougher and clearer, and due to small soft turns, all the little things, ripples play well, so that it became even more comfortable around the city! And by the way, on the MAC, the understatement from the front is much clearer, in my photos it is clearly visible.
And I recommend installing additional locks on this hood. When I was driving to Vladivostok from Khabarovsk, I discovered upon arrival that the central lock had opened in an incomprehensible way, held only on additional locks. On a long trip under the hot summer sun, there was a feeling that it was deformed a little, it became softer. At first I noticed that the gap between the bumper and the hood became larger, then I opened it, and realized that the lock was not closed. It's good that I listened to people that the plastic should be additionally fixed. The next morning everything was as clear as it was.

I suspect that in urban conditions, a car with one bucket in the cabin is not often used :)

rs-r is generally optimal for the city, not as hard as on coils, but still more pleasant :)

Is it rubber for every day? :)

The tires are good. Springs are strength. By the way, I also became more comfortable after replacing the springs on the Eibach.

While the car is for every day, but I don't drive calmly, there is no mat in the salon, I don’t like to drive, I don’t like to drive :))
