An integral part of a bikini;) - Toyota Land Cruiser, 3.4 L, 1983
So my car for the summer version is completed: BIKINI-TOP and Half doors. The doors are completely aluminum with all the shmurdyak and a seal for installation.
What are your opinions on color? Leave it as it is (only varnish), powder it with black powder or paint it in body color?
For 2 days I tried in different ways the old (read rotten) sidewalls, and the new, and the restored frame, and the old one still had to be pulled.
It seems all the same the corpus is behaved.
I obviously had a body, I jumped for 2 days and still couldn't do without a sealant.

The question is, how easy is the roof to be removed?
From my experience, it's not a question to shoot, but difficulties arose with putting.
Not difficult. I have already done this procedure. It takes an hour or two.
I took off. I don't know about the complexities of the reverse installation yet.

wow, you
don't even know what to say,
but they are so awesome that it seems to me that they can just be varnished and not painted
in body color! The car should look serious, and not sculpted from pieces) right? it will be beautiful and so ... but still
Stunned! I understand that 40s have simple shapes, but still - everything looks so elegant and neat - class!
Regarding painting ... +1 in body color ... The main feature of these doors is the material and therefore the reduction in the total weight, and it will not be very good to distinguish them from the main background IMHO ...
Today I traveled around the paint brushes and here are the conclusions:
1) Do not paint, but open it with varnish - it does not work, tk. lacquer does not fit on aluminum, only on the ground;
2) Powder - shears off when solid objects hit;
3) There remains an option in the body color - which will probably have to stop.
Nice, or maybe the whole aluminum body can be made without painting, otherwise such beauty and paint.)
Mercians - yes. And with Defov, not everything is so simple. The lacquer does not adhere to bare aluminum.
