First warranty claim - Toyota Land Cruiser, 4.5L, 2008

No matter how I think that the Land Cruiser is a super reliable car, everything is the same and this piece of iron has problems.

Due to the fact that I practically do not get out of this car, then everything that changes gradually I do not notice, but when another driver sits down and says that the brake pedal goes deeper than it should be when you first press it, you start to sort out possible reasons:
1. Air in the system (from where ? the car is new)
2. The brake master cylinder is worn out (how? the car is new)
3. The car is just heavy and it seems to me!

But still, they decided to announce a possible malfunction at the next MOT.

And indeed Toyota found abnormalities in the brakes. All the same, an experienced driver noticed and I did not!

Pumped over! It helped for 500 meters, then the pedal began to go deeper again.

I decided not to flatter with my guesses that there might be, and told the Toyota people - Do it! I need a result.

The solution was simply to order another, new brake fluid barrel cover on the brake cylinder.
Of course, I could not believe that everything was so simple, but Toyota engineers explained that when driving and the first pressing of the brake pedal, excessive rarefaction occurs.

In general, you said you order, I'm waiting!

Came in 2 weeks later. I gave the car! While all the papers were being filled in, the car had already been returned. We rode with the serviceman, everything is in order. And to this day, everything is fine.

As they told me in Toyota, such problems have already been encountered and they solved them that way)))

So the lack is small and I did not pay much attention to it

PS,

I drove to "Smooth" with faulty brakes))) At that time, they could not do it))

I understand that there is a discharge in the brake reservoir? So it was possible to pierce (drill) a small hole in the lid to equalize the pressure in the tank with atmospheric. ))

You understand correctly! But he did not dare to make a "hole" in the lid. Why is there dust and dirt that will kill the cylinder. Just a new cover with a valve))) No cost and danger.
