Entry, June 2, 2010 - Toyota Supra, 2.0L, 1989
The date ... indicated in the posting of this entry does not correspond to reality ... because it is a story from the past of this car ...
Somehow back in 2007 ... we were a club (then we had our own club of race organizers) in Novosbirsk for the Drag Racing Championship. there were three cars from our city and from Novokuznetsk about 10 cars joined us in my opinion ...
when we drove past the village of Zhuravli (this is not far from Novosibirsk), my friend and I started maneuvering along this road in GAZ 21029 (the road is like a stupid autodrome) and at a fine moment my brake pedal goes to the floor. ((((and there are no brakes ((((... stopped. checked there are no patches ... everything is dry. but there were no brakes) (we were still at the automatic transmission) drove on ... carefully ... braked by elementary switching the machine down ... and in end with strong pressure on the pedal ...
so we arrived at the races. and went back to the city ... there we started to take apart the ass and find out what happened there.
result ... somehow one block. flew out of the support. and the caliper itself lay on the brake disc. as a result, the car stopped braking ... and the brake disc itself was completely mutilated ...
cured by replacing brake discs and pads.
but that's why and HOW the block came out from there. so no one knows ... although all the stoppers are in place!
such was the story ...)))
an identical story happened this summer - also, during disassembly, I found only 1 block instead of the prescribed 2 =) it becomes very slick when the brakes disappear at speed =)
