[Tuning] Short-stroke wings. Custom. - Toyota MR-S, 1.8 L, 2002
After installing the mechanics, I did not like at all how the switching occurs. The runoff of the backstage is about 10 cm, and there are unpleasant backlashes. In general, the handle was like "wadded".
It was decided (still navrenoe in the month of April) to put a short-stroke stage. I looked at injapan and ebay. The price tag with delivery will be from 100 to 150 bucks, and the design is primitive to insanity.
It was decided to do it myself. downloaded pictures of different wings from the Internet (Chinese, American, trdshnuyu) and began to measure the flow of the wings. So, the ratio of the lengths at the upper part of the handle and the lower one (gear ratio) at the stock rocker is slightly more than 2.6, for the throttle one - 2.1, for the Chinese / American - somewhere around 1.55.
I, as the smartest one) decided that an extremely short curtain with a gear ratio of no more than 1.5 was needed. I scratched out the drawing. I was looking for a turner for a very long time. I redid it several times with different people, no one could make the central ball normally. As a result, I found a seasoned turner, who nevertheless did everything right, but naturally took much more than others.
Spacers were needed, since the lower part of the handle would not have just stood up, but rested against the body of the car, therefore, with spacers, he lifted the entire wings by 2 cm up. Moreover, the handle would become 1.5 cm lower.
As a result, I took apart the old curtain and put this one.
Everything is great, everything works! The backstage travel is minimal, backlashes are not felt at all, BUT - it is impossible to switch normally at all. He's brutally heavy. Here a text from a school physics textbook comes to mind: "winning in distance, we lose in strength." That's it, it's not in vain that at the backstage the ratio of lengths is only 2.1 to 1.
I disassembled everything on a new one and went to redo the wings. While I was leaving the service station, my friends made a couple of cool photos.
The next day I remade the handle, cut off the lower part of it a little. Because of this, it became possible to remove the spacers and the handle is now even lower (which is very good).
The feeling from such a backstage is much more pleasant. Switching occurs faster. The backlash is much less. At the same time, the effort when shifting practically did not change.
PS Yes, yes, in the last photo there is a knob on the handle from a TAZ 2106, bought for forty rubles. A leather "sock" for the handle has already been ordered, and the knob itself will be made of aluminum upon arrival of the cover.
Price tag: 1,500 ₽ Mileage: 64,000 kmbuy - xs, maybe exist, but the price tag will be horse. You can try to repair it as an option. For example, take a gun that melts plastic rods and fill them with all the wipes, and then sandpaper. There may be other options, I don't even know how to do it.
krutoten here I think, too, it will zamarochitsya only I have a question if you can go to PM!
in short, my plastic is loose, well, it was worn off to which the round part fits. where you can buy it or how to make it you already know how to do it please tell me
buddy, you would have thrown any drawing for people at least) that would be good)
Hello fellow countryman, please tell me how to remove this bad retaining ring from the gearbox wings and pull out the locking pin / bushing, is it knocked out from either side or?
